Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I disconnected the battery for months through the winter but I had that battery disconnected last summer a few times as well, often for days at a time so not unusual.

So, I replaced a few rear suspension parts with cool looking shiny parts and got the alignment done.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Honestly, my car just decides to repair to itself now and then. Like many, I put my little car away for the winter. I live in Canada so I put myself away too. I go south with a 996 to-do list upon my return. Fiddly stuff that comes up during the summer which isnt quite important enough to fix at the expense of a golf game. I order little parts as I go along and count on spending the first month or so of late spring working on the car before it gets back on the road for the season. Last years compiled list was: -New dog bones (and more as it turned out) to finally get the rear end lined up and therefore to quit shredding tires. -Install the new micro switch on the passenger side door as that window drop action was not quite happening the way it should. -Install the new sunroof button that had a mind of its own. -Install the new oil level sensor (well, maybe) as that guy would flash the warning light very intermittently. -Chase down this weird static sound that seemed to coming from the passenger side dash speaker. -Chase down the relay on the spoiler as it wasnt retracting as the speed came down. -Fix the flying foam through the air vents thing. -Make THE appointment to have the Indy replace RMS, IMSB, and whatever the clutch assembly needs, even though everything feels just swell to me. So, I replaced a few rear suspension parts with cool looking shiny parts and got the alignment done. I fixed the flying foam thing and I bit the bullet and booked the expensive appointment. But! All those weird little electrical issues went away! Everything works like its 2003 again! I dont know how or why. I disconnected the battery for months through the winter but I had that battery disconnected last summer a few times as well, often for days at a time so not unusual. Perhaps Casper, the friendly ghost, is a 996 fan and pokes around in my garage when we arent around to catch him. Anybody else getting this divine intervention going on? It makes no sense.

POST 2Original post

My guess is that they'll come back. haha The only one I can comment on is the speaker...for me it occurred because the insulation around the wires going to the speaker (what you see when you pull the speaker) had turned to goo and was no longer insulating much. A few rounds of electrical tape solved that problem. Maybe your wires shifted a little bit...
