Yes these were Bosch boxed parts unfortunately I’m hitting a wall in terms of reimbursement because they don’t warranty “used” electric parts

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My expensive long path to clear a check engine light

he has a great shop with a lot of special cars

its really blowing my mind
Counterfeit/bogus/sub par quality parts are everywhere as OEM's gobble up the good stuff to try and keep up with new car builds . It's tough as a consumer to really know what you are buying . Lots of legal loopholes in the wording on websites and on the boxes of parts .
I would think FCP Euro would honor their lifetime warranty for the parts that were purchased there by the OP .
Yes. There is no reason to buy anywhere else frankly. Especially parts that have a tendency to fail more often than others. Looking at you oil pressure sensor! Just buy a Porsche one and get one free if original fails.
I suspect that maf is the root cause of all the issues. It would be interesting to swap the o2s to a know working good car and actually see the telemerty. It would be extreamly odd that all 4 would be bad unless u had a common electrical issue which is possible if there is harness damage.
No fcp didn’t have all 4 so I had to go on line for 2 but the fcp parts are still ok the map sensor I got from on line as well
believe me I’ve learned my lesson fcp from now on
As someone who has been buying parts for multiple project, Merc, Audi, Porsche, Ford I've avoided doing business on eBay or any other resellers. Reason being is that there's been quite a bit of scams/fraud issues. For peace of mind, I stick with ECS, Pelican and primarily FCP. Rock Auto has been good to me but if any vendor that may be affected by scammers, would be them since they just proxy the transactions for the sellers. Ala, Amazon Marketplace.
In Holland we have a saying: "Goedkoop is duurkoop". It doesn't translate well, but it basically means cheap = expensive.
OEM parts for the win. Glad you got it resolved!
Spanish has a similar one "Lo barato sale mas caro", translates to "Cheap will cost you more". I can't say what dealer for legal reasons but we did have a Parts Director who'd buy parts out of a box truck(vs buying from the manufacturer) that were of questionable origin and sell at dealer mark up. After working at a dealer as a mid level manager (enough power to get blamed for stupid employees but not enough power to warrant manager pay), I'm very selective of what dealers I deal with.
Bill Rudtner is the president of the Metro NY PCA chapter and is my go-to shop for everything that I don't do myself. I was there last week and always love seeing the amazing cars in the shop.
Definitely. I don't buy from eBay, and avoid Amazon when possible. Every purchase from either one of those places has to be preceded by a question, "Am I okay with this being cheap counterfeit crap?"
Because there is a very high chance that it will be.
There are plenty of great vendors, don't overlook your local Porsche center, or sunset, autohouseAZ, DCAuto. I would also add that you should not rule out rosepassion.com, I have ordered from them several times and they shipped immediately, DHL. All parts on their site clearly say when they will ship. Even some of the big name parts places will happily take your order knowing the part week be coming from Europe and slowly, very slowly. Might as well get the part directly from Europe quickly.
I've recently seen several comments re stocking up in parts. The wizards garage just posted a new video on supply chain issues getting worse. How long until people start hoarding. Especially the old rich. The folks who filled their garages with toilet paper, remember that? There's always something new to be scared of. Me? I'm scared of nothing. 😱😱😱😱
I would NOT recommend AutohauzAZ. The owner is a wise guy. I paid for a Genuine Porsche MK-1 coolant tank ($650) but received a cheap imitation. Getting support was a nightmare. Finally they told me to send it back and they would send a proper one. They never acknowledged receiving it even though I had tracking proof. They said they weren't going to send a new one or refund the shipping fees because it was the correct tank and I was wrong. I've been through this before with Genuine Porsche tanks and can spot the difference from 10 feet.I gave them a bad review on Yelp and the owner responded with several long and nasty sarcastic posts. I contacted PayPal and suddenly AutohausAZ decided to refund everything. I went back to my Yelp review to add more information and found that in the meantime, he deleted his nasty responses and replaced them with "Sorry for your trouble. We'll look into it". If you look at other complaints, his responses are similar. I suspect he's done the exact same thing with those people.
