Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran the car with just the intake and no tune for over 1,000 miles with no issues.
Leading evidence: 'Run car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean mass air flow sensor' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You got nothing to lose if you try cleaning the MAF.

Its the standard EVOMS tune though which I understand many people have run without issue so it doesnt make sense.

No MAF issues pre tune, and then immediately in the first test drive post tune I’ve got issues.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys. 2004 C4S here. Only mods are an EVOMS intake and tune. I ran the car with just the intake and no tune for over 1,000 miles with no issues. Now, after the tune it throws a PSM/ABS fault on hard acceleration about every third pull. I pulled the codes this morning and had a p0103 hot film MAF code. MAF is original to the car at 58k miles I believe. Now I know everyone wants to blame aftermarket intakes on things like this, but that doesnt really explain why it ran fine for 1,000 miles pre tune with just the intake then immediately had problems after the tune? Any thoughts?
PSM has an internal reference model of engine (and vehicle dynamics) behaviour in order to control vehicle stability by comparing measured data to calculated data (calculated with aforementioned internal computational models).
Perhaps the tune leads to changes in engine behaviour that are outside of plausible ranges for a standard engine thus resulting in a PSM code.
However, I wouldn't call a code relating to the MAF sensor a PSM code but an emission or engine code but the above could be an explanation for what you're seeing.
I suspect that thw tune has nothing to do with your curremt issues. The psm will tell a decent scanner what the issue is. May be as simple as an abs sensor or as expensive as an abs pump.
Yehhh the timing of it all just seems weird to me. No MAF issues pre tune, and then immediately in the first test drive post tune I’ve got issues. I don’t want to waste money on a new MAF unless I’m sure it’s the issue. Any way to tell definitively? I read a lot about vacuum leaks being a cause on the turbo forms but never for an NA car. I may try to disassemble and reassemble the intake before getting a new MAF.
I did notice over the last two days it’s started to have a very slight stumble under even mild acceleration, and the last time I started it, it almost seemed to stall out with a really low RPM start. None of this has resulted in a CEL though.
