Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm 95% sure I'm going with a pair of Corbeau RRX seats because they check the boxes my 6'6" 300# butt needs checked.

only comfortable way for me to use my Aliens was direct mounting to floor.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For anyone who's swapped from stock power sliders in their 996 (esp. C4S)...
If you went with Corbeau brackets and sliders - is this lower than the stock mount/slider?
If you went with another base (ex. Planted) - was this lower than the stock power mount/slider?
I'm 95% sure I'm going with a pair of Corbeau RRX seats because they check the boxes my 6'6" 300# butt needs checked. Just needing some input on base/slider combos to get as low as possible (I have to retain sliding capability).
TIA
My experience isn't exactly what you're looking for but it might be a good reference point. I've ran the following:
- GT3 seats with stock sliders and Brey Krause side mounts
- Racetechs with Racetech side mounts and PCI floor mounts (flat plate, same as BBI or GMG)
- Recaro Pole Positions ABEs with Recaro side mounts and sliders, and some PCI floor mounts.
The GT3 seats were lower than stock. The Recaros were about where stock sat or slightly higher. The Racetechs were too high and basically put the steering wheel in my lap. My wallet's recommendation is you do a lot of research before you buy anything. The GT3 seat are going back in my car with a GMG roll bar this weekend. Go figure that the factory, most expensive option is the best one.
I'd be curious to read other people's setups and experience.
I found euro Gt3 seats sat significantly higher on stock rails than OEM seats.
only comfortable way for me to use my Aliens was direct mounting to floor. 6-6 300lbs is a large man. NFL size. I cant see how a 996 would ever be comfortable 😎
I have a long torso at 6-4. My F150 is comfortable. The Targa is at my limit. Lots of cars I wish I could fit in..
You can certainly find a lower seat than mine. The only issue I have with the Planted base is it is difficult to remove the rear inside mounting bolt. Can only get an open end wrench on the bolt with about a quarter turn at a time. But, the seat doesn't come out often. Suggestion, while the seat is out, get a waterproof housing from ECU Doctors to protect the ECU mounted under the seat from water. Esp if you have a Cab. Caught with the top down in a rain storm can be really disasterous.
I have recaro pole position seats with bk mounts, recaro sliders and adaptors. The seat cousion was replaced with a 1" pad. Im 6'4" 200 and fit np with helmet.
I'm actually quite comfortable overall. Plenty of length. Admittedly too big for my seat (those poor 19 yr old bolsters). Just trying to get off the headliner a tiny bit more.
