Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had stopped looking for a coupe for a while when I checked a local online classified source and this popped up. Three owner bought here originally, 52k miles, sport seats, full leather, and more. IMS (+clutch, starter, RMS, resurfaced flywheel, water pump, thermostat). Service, tires, brakes, etc. all done in the past couple years and 3k miles. This car needs nothing but gas, key, and me.

Perfect timing for the top to go away Enjoy bruddah!!

POST 3Original post

Very nice- I like the red and those wheels! Enjoy.

POST 4Original post

Congrats Ski! Welcome to 996 town. Looks like a good buddy for your 964.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all. Doc—Yeah, the 964 has been a journey. Should be a really nice outlaw by the summer. The cab will end up in southern Utah where it’s more conducive to top-down motoring.

POST 6Original post

Nice find, fastest color available for 996's (that UT scenery is amazing as well)!

POST 8Original post

So clean! Love the red center console. Ive got an 02 cab and hope to restore it to this level. Even considering the guards red too.

POST 9Original post

Welcome and congrats! Cabs arent bad at all, they weigh less than 200bs more than a coupe, and are plenty of fun. Four adults in the car is possible with the top down if its a short trip! Enjoy!

POST 10Original post

It's a beauty! Enjoy the seat time. Now get those caps pointing in the right direction.

POST 16Original post

Cool looking cab, congrats; really like to top canvas color-contrast with the Red exterior color, very nice indeed... Cheers,

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone. I'm enjoying driving a 911 again since my 964 has been in a shop getting built then trying to figure out its problems for the past year. I'm having to half rebuild a rebuilt motor. The PO had the worn-out cylinders put back on the engine. I've long been intrigued by the 996--lighter then the last two air cooled models, small, still analogue, and 300-320 hp. Maybe I should have bought a 996 coupe two years ago when I sold my 991.2 and bought the 964. I could have bought two or three 996's then for what I'm in the 964 now. Or one with a Raby stage II motor, suspension, and interior upgrades. You makes your choices and take your chances. The upside to all this? I have two 911s now--a hot-rodded 964 (soon, I hope) and a stock 996 cab (to remain stock!). Ordinarily I'm not a cab guy, but the argument for a second 911 was to put a convertible at our home (under construction) in southern Utah where there's more sunshine and warmth than northern Utah. The rational worked for my wife and I'm a lucky guy. The downside? I'm having to keep track of two 911 forums.

POST 18Original post

Congrats! Beautiful car and enjoy in good health! Having 2 just makes things more interesting and forces me to pay more attention to them!
