Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I know the X51 changes the note a little due to the tune and headers, so Im wondering how that affects things if the XPipe is changed.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car currently has an X51, Fabspeed Maxflo mufflers that have been Fister Stage 3d. Ive been thinking about an XPipe. But Im curious on if itll drone or how itll sound. I currently love how the car is, barely louder than stock when cruising, no drone, and SCREAMS under WOT or above 4500 rpm.
I know the X51 changes the note a little due to the tune and headers, so Im wondering how that affects things if the XPipe is changed. Anybody have that combo?
Honestly the difference isn't as drastic as you're imagining. Find a non-x51 sound clip and you're pretty much there.
Also.. if you like it as is ... why change?
Many comments about x-pipes say they make the exhaust tone/pitch higher . Some say F1 like . When my 3.8 build is done I am going with headers , catless x-pipes and OEM mufflers . I want to hear what that sounds like . Next step will be a Fister type mod . Final setup might be aftermarket mufflers .
I have a 3.6 C2.
I went from stock to catless Fabspeed x-pipe back to stock to Soul Sport cats (non-x-pipe)
The catless x-pipe sounded awesome...the stock not so much.
The Soul sport cats in the non-x-pipe configuration is my favorite.
The Sould sport cats are slightly quieter than the Fabspeed catless x-pipe, and not as high of a pitch, but I like the overall sound.
I have Fabspeed Maxflow mufflers.
IMHO, stay away from catless.
A friend of mine has MaxFlos Gundod with an X Pipe, but its a GT3, so its gonna sound different from the get go.
My other buddy has a 200CEL X Pipe with gundod TopGear mufflers, but its a 3.4.
My other buddy has headers, catless pipe with stock gundo mufflers
So nobody quite the same to know what itll sound like.
I like the way my buddys 3.4 sounds with the 200CEL XPipe and Top Gear mufflers, but his sounds deeper than mine and not as F1-y..
Yes, the 200Cell cats make the sound much deeper which is more pleasing to me.
In my opinion, Stock Cat(w/Maxflows)

These are the combinations I've owned or driven.
Maybe the 996.2 and the 997.1 but def not the 996.1 and 997.x. When I purchased xpipe cats for the 996.1 there were definitely separate skus. Yeah that's right, I'm a .1,
I went to a cars n coffee thing with the FB group folks and my car was def the country mouse. But she's getting there. Slowly but surely. The thing is, being in the south, the body can be 'last' prio, no point in spending money on bodywork and trim if the engine is going to go poof. To me anyway. Once I have the 'insurance' saved, then I'll do bodywork and maybe paint her a different color. I know, not supposed to but I'm not reselling, will keep this one. No point in spending more imho.
Are you in the Carolinas? Wilmington NC Here. 'Hurricane Region' grrr. And next week we're in season dang it.
Hmm
whats weird is this says 997.2 only
https://www.topgear.co.uk/by-manufac...ilencer-bypass
but if you look at almost every XPipe that has cats, they date range is 97-16:

so weird.
