Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The underside is filled with a zig zag filler that has to get removed so it fits.
Leading evidence: 'Fill with a zig zag filler' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill with a zig zag filler' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I replaced my ashtray with an ashtray delete and bought one of those metal cup holder that clips in under the console.

I used black and it turned out very close to the color of the console.

You can use an old rice cooker to let your printed parts dwell in a heated acetone vapor bath.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I designed this cup holder for my '99 Carrera 4 and it worked great until I had a little fun in the Colorado mountains and it melted.
We have a 3D printer at work and I found a link to a cupholder mentioned in another thread. I used black and it turned out very close to the color of the console. The fit is pretty good, its not loose once it's in but it's very light. I've used it for awhile now and I just leave it in.

No, I've had water bottles and coffee in there and don't recall it being in the way at all. I also jam my phone in there and lean it back to watch the screen for maps. That got in the way of shifting to 6th. It's offset to the right enough though. It sticks out onto the passenger side a bit.
Very interesting. My local guy is within a couple of miles from the house. They download the file that I downloaded from the site and they will let me know if they can do it or not. Cost is about $60 bucks and I will have it tomorrow if this works out. I wonder if I can send them a file for a young blonde to order.

Just an FYI.. The underside is filled with a zig zag filler that has to get removed so it fits. Not sure if your guy will do it for you but ask him too. It's a bit tricky if youhavnt worked with printed pieces before but there is a little pull tab sort of where you start and it kind of unravels out and you're left with the part.
I designed this cup holder for my '99 Carrera 4 and it worked great until I had a little fun in the Colorado mountains and it melted. The PLA or plastic typically used in 3D printers can't take much heat. I replaced my ashtray with an ashtray delete and bought one of those metal cup holder that clips in under the console.
I'll commission one for $0 when I get home and pop the SD card into the Makerbot...
If your printer can take ABS filament, use it instead of PLA to ensure the part doesn't get melty in the sun.
Maybe I'm the only guy on the planet who thinks the Ultimate Cupholder is
meh
at best.
I agree completely with this. Really don't like how the Ultimate Cupholder looks. A friend with a 3D printer is going to print this for me. How great would it be to be able to print all new interior parts. Now if only Porsche would release the design files.
Ha for sure. The issues I've had with PLA vs ABS.. one changes color and melts in the sun and heat, and the other can be pretty brittle. I'd still be totally willing to try some out
.
So, it looks like the cupholder is for cars with an ashtray on the center console - since I have the ashtray delete console, the model doesn't work for my car.
If anyone wants the cup holder shown above and is willing to pay the shipping costs, let me know and it's yours. PM, please. Note that I printed in low-res - so the fit will be fine, but the printed "Porsche" text isn't as nice.
Not going to lie. That thing looks like poo.
I have a lot of solidworks experience designing prosthetics. If someone wants to share dimensions of the base, I can upload an stl file that OP can use to print.
I'd like to give it a try.
IS ANYONE PRINTING ONE OF THESE OUT THAT I CAN PURCHASE?
Would be nice to have it in the Saddle/tan color, or very dark brown.
Thanks.
Thought I would mention since print lines always bothered me on my printed pieces. You can use an old rice cooker to let your printed parts dwell in a heated acetone vapor bath. The vapor will melt the print lines giving you a very smooth finish. Another option is to just wipe it down with a brush soaked in acetone.
Someday I'll get me one of the two-nozzle printers and figure out how to print the supports and rafts with the dissolvable filament. peeling the supports off of a complicated print job SUCKS.
Jay, someone else had already asked for my print - sorry, bud. If you'd like, I can print you one in clear, red, or black. Let me know if you want one.
