Anyone know a good source for getting the Sport Classic II wheels? Are either the Turbo Twists or Sport Classics more desirable than the other? I just don't see a lot available for sale. BTW, if anyone wants to trade their Sport Classics for myTurbo Twists, send me a PM. I'd much rather do that.
These are the wheels I'm looking to swap... Sport Classic II
My Turbo Twists are in good condition, consistent with what you would expect from a 20 year old car.
Yeah, good luck making that trade
Maybe if they're hollow spokes... I like turbo twists - I have a pair for my winter tires - but I certainly wouldn't trade my SC II's for them. Try these guys -

Good luck
Oops, these are different than what I search for on eBay.
I was thinking they were Sport Design:

Your picture didn't show up the first time.
Probably just have to keep on eye on the classifieds and eBay, even facebook marketplace can be a good place for wheels. I am in the minority in that I actually don't like the classic 2s all that much, for whatever reason I've never been a huge fan of wheel rivets.
you might get lucky here, I found a set of 17" Cups - they refurbish them, still smelled out of the box
Nice wheel, I'd like a set myself
They show the rarer 18 x 8 front - most are 7.5"

Call first,
I know they'll take your order on line whether they have it in stock to not - but they do deliver on what they have
I figured by the background it wasn't Southern California but it doesn't hurt to ask.
I have a set of Sport Classic IIs that I don't need but I just can't get excited about shipping them.
As Fracture said, they come in different sizes. The 10 inch rears are not too hard to find, but the 8 inch fronts are tougher. I bought two sets of wheels for my 99 including a set of 996.2 GT3 wheels. I discovered when I started my searches that there are a bunch of different sizes and offsets. Some if the wheels came on the Boxster in a smaller diameter or narrower width. Do some research to ensure you are getting what you intend to get.
I'll give you that^^^ They're a pita to clean - hence really liking the Twists for my winter wheels - which are black btw... I'm thinking about stripping them down this summer and painting them body color (Ocean Blue Metallic)... we'll see how things shape up over the next month or so - I was thinking about having them professionally done, but that's probably out of the question now...
Sport Classic IIs are best looking 996 wheels, with Akebono ceramic pads low dust easy clean. They really are two-piece can separate and paint rim and spokes different colors. Heavy and ceramic pads stop leisurely, so a cruiser not racer.
I have 18" hollow spokes on my '99C2. They are a 993 part number. What kind of value would they add to the car? What are they worth?
Not that I would sell them, but I may sell the car in a year or so....maybe.
For someone that is specifically looking for hollow spokes, and depending on condition, you could get as much as $2 - $2.5k for them (obviously they'd have to be in great condition). If they're on the car, I don't think they'll bring an added premium, but it's a nice "point of interest" that might help push a sale.
Yes, all you've said sounds reasonable.
A few other points of interest that may help the sale.
