Can anyone tell me if the stock 996 GT3 mufflers are different to what I have on my stock C2 ? I've seen a video showing a C4 with 996 GT3 side mufflers an it sounded different from the video. Just want to confirm they are totally different before pulling a trigger on a set for my C2. Thanks !

I'm pretty sure you'd need the CATs and all to make it work. Look at pictures online.

from experience, I purchased a set of low mile GT3 mufflers from a member here sent them to Fister Motorsports for modification they later wound up on another C2, a 40th Anniversary

I think the angle of the exhaust exit is different for the GT3s.

Externally and dimensions wise they are the same. The GT3 mufflers are missing some baffles but if you are doing it for sound, CATs would make a bigger difference. Unfortunately all the cats for our cars have a fairly finite life span (on the MK2s). Never have I had to replace so many cats before!

I know for a fact that the C2 and the GT3 exhaust tips are not interchangeable (I tried). The angle of the pipes is different. Maybe it's just how they are mounted in the car vs. the muffler pipes.
