Although I never did use one when a 1968 Polar White 911 replaced the Grand Am - just frequent thorough washings.

Suggestion

Good move - I get the protection aspect and if I were to take a drive where I know conditions warrant the use, I'd use it but as for looks - paint chips are a way of life.......embrace life!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

37 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I kinda like the look. What do you guys think?

POST 2Original post

Looks great, but it will ruin your paint.

POST 3Original post

Good on you for trying - but it gets a resounding "meh" from me. All of the busyness around the lights reminds me of a zippered-in screen tent window.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Really? From abrasion? It never gets wet... It came with the car so thought I would try it on.

If it moves from wind or high speeds. Looks pretty tight so may not be a problem. I have always prefered braless myself.

I wouldn't have exactly put it that way but I agree. Personally no condoms of any kind for me por favor. I've seen the uneven paint from both traditional bra's and clear bra's in the long term outcome.

POST 8Original post

Looks like it could be a good option for the track. Any recommendations on a removable (preferably one handed ) bra that could hold up to the demands of the track?

POST 10Original post

What happens if u cover like that even clear wrap(ie only partial wrap) that paint won't weather evenly. Mike

POST 11Original post

Looks fine... but I agree with the busy headlight area... can you remove that clear plastic? Might make a small improvement.

POST 12Original post

Sorry, I can't say I like it. Bras are for late 80's Trans Ams and IROC's.

Excuse me. I somewhat resemble that remark as I remember running one on my white 1973 Grand Am in Florida during love bug season. We didn't leave them on though, just used them for interstate road trips and removed them immediately after. Although I never did use one when a 1968 Polar White 911 replaced the Grand Am - just frequent thorough washings. People thought I was crazy to dump a 2 year old low mileage luxury cruiser for a high mileage "pregnant roller skate" with A/C that was a joke and an interior environment that mostly resembled a 007 smoke screen. But I'd still take that car in a heart beat.

POST 16Original post

Came for the title, left because that thing is ugly.

POST 17Original post

Flashback to my 1981 firebird....not a fan, but it's your car so do what pleases you!

POST 18Original post

Bras on cars went out of style for a reason. They're fugly.

POST 19Original post

Now all you need are louvres for the rear window...

POST 20Original post

I had a bra on my '75 Datsun 280 Z and the movement of it was like sandpaper if a little dirt got up under there it destroyed the paint.

POST 21Original post

If you like it that's all that really counts. Try it and see if you end up with any damage.

^^^Now that is sweet!!! Regarding the bra/paint scratch scenario, I think the OP should have a clear bra installed under the leather bra. Bingo.

POST 24Original post

OP is in San Francisco, his car is a hipster.

POST 26Original post

that is hideous. Get a clear bra. Srsly take that $hit off.

POST 29Original post

Me too. You would think some see-thru clear plastic bits on a bra would be nice, but not so much in this case. I don't think that looks good. At all.

POST 30Original post

To each their own! But I'm with the majority -- not good.

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK OK! I took of the bra. Now what do I do with her?

POST 33Original post

clear bro to protect the paint. Many quality window tint shop can custom cut "kits" for specific cars. I would go that route.

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 11738357

I particularly like Xpel. Not cheap but good stuff and remains clear. Not sure about a clear bro though
