I like to change things up from time to time, especially when they're reversible.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If there was not photo I would probably say not for me, however, I keep going back to that photo...wow. It all works well with the white body and black wheels, I really like it, not that my onion should matter though.
It's 100 percent reversible and it's your car. I like to change things up from time to time, especially when they're reversible. For what it's worth, I think it looks good.
I like it, my wife says “it looks good, but I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t want Porsche plastered all over it. I’d rather keep everyone guessing.”
Her statement has a kinda funny.
Yesterday at a local PCA Get ToGether someone told me I should put the GT3 badge “back on” the rear of my GT3 so everyone will know what it is. They looked disappointed when I told them the reason why it didn’t say GT3 is it’s a base 996.
They thought it was a 997 GT3.
Hurt their pride to not be able to correctly identify my car.
That’s one reason why I like it, it keeps people guessing.
I had the covered headlights on it yesterday.
I’ve has people ask me if it is a “2019 or a 2020.”
Thats happened with both covered and non-covered headlight on it.
The 996 is definitely not dated styling!
Works for me and the package on a whole is well spec'd
I'd like to see some more pics of the car from different angles... Go get her out and prove it with photos !
I bought this car six years ago. The original owner seemed like we ticked all the boxes to try and replicate a GT3 for the US because we couldn't get one. It has the full factory Aero Kit, Sport Seats, etc. It has then been fully updated with factory Porsche parts that include a full X74 suspension aligned to factory specs, the GT3 center console delete, GT3 brake ducting and the Fister exhaust mod to existing cans to give it a more distinctive exhaust note. Overall, besides the Fister update, the goal was upgrade with all factory Porsche pieces to end up with something that looks like it could have arrived from the factory that way.
Yep...This is exactly what it needs....I like the stripe when it follows the whole length of the car....Makes it look more integrated for the eye. But again...Its an amazing looking car either way.
I always find those "between the wheels" stripes to make the car look like it's sitting higher off the ground. Somehow that becomes kind of a new visual baseline for most of the length of the car, as opposed to the sill, so it makes the car look like it's jacked up higher. I like it better without.
I get this. My car is a 99 (made 7/98) and I still get comments (like at the gas station) like "wow! that looks fantastic!" thinking I'm driving a new Porsche 911. I chalk it up to the 911 is a classic design...which it is. Some people, when I tell them it is a 99, their jaws drop and they can't believe it. Well, it is what it is....
