I did a window reset (turn key to position two, roll window all the way down, then roll it all the way up and hold the switch for 5+ seconds) and that didnt do anything.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I noticed yesterday that my window drop doesnt stay dropped. Itll drop when I pull on the handle, but as soon as I let go of the handle, it goes back up so if I were to close the door the window would be all the way up and not shut properly. Same behavior inside or outside of the car when pulling the handle. Its only the driver side. I did a window reset (turn key to position two, roll window all the way down, then roll it all the way up and hold the switch for 5+ seconds) and that didnt do anything. Window functions fine otherwise.

POST 2Original post

I have the same problem that I have been too lazy to address. It needs a new Porsche lock assembly.

POST 3Original post

Try closing the door just enough that the latch assembly contacts the striker. If the window drops, you have your culprit. I've been living with just that scenario for, oh, two years!

You're lucky its only the driver door as its latch assembly is easier to get at a great cost compared to the expensive passenger side. Had similar problems, installed a URO 8N1-837-015C latch and its worked flawlessly for the last couple years. This latch now has gone up in price $50 since got mine, now $150 at Pelican..

Audi TT part (same era) is the same. That's what I bought and installed. V. cheap
