Suggestion
If you use 5 or 6 gear you can minimize it with the right speed and RPM.

2002 996 c2 cab with stock everything but top gear 200cel cats. Was trying to find someone local (Syracuse ny) to do a fister mod but no luck so far. I was looking at buying direct from Fister but by the time you pay for them along with shipping both ways I could just get new mufflers. I was thinking maybe I�ll just swap out and put top gear sport mufflers in but I can�t seem To find too much feedback on these. Like how loud? Drone on the highway?
I've been running Top gear scorpion silencers for three years on my 1998 996. They are advertised as 'sport sound' , they are in fact scorpions. I am very pleased with them the sound is perfect. They are docile up to 2000 rpm making them perfect for driving round town and passing annual inspections. As the revs climb to three thousand and higher they explode into life with a sound like a formula one car.

Did you ask for fister mod on the phone in your local area? Here is what I did... For the fister//gundo mod, I took my mufflers out of the car and took them to muffler shop. Show the technician few pictures on my phone what I gundo hack looks like. He didn't know what it is called but agreed to do it. Few hours later they were done.
I have the top gear 'loud' ones, been installed for a few months now. It's hard to answer the how loud question because everyone has different tolerances. There is some drone, its mild in my opinion, I've had exhausts on other cars that make your head feel like its been vibrating. If you use 5 or 6 gear you can minimize it with the right speed and RPM. Most of my trips are 20-50 mile cruises and once the car is warmed up I am usually mostly in 3 and 4th gears. I also don't hesitate to get in it to go for a quick trip to the store or run an errand and don't get out of the car feeling like I've been sent the the ringer as drone can make you feel sometimes. As for the mufflers overall for the price I am pleased, after getting my mufflers off the seams were starting to come apart and the hardware was trashed. The mufflers are a bit lighter and that is a plus. Buy new OEM hardware, clamps for the tips and the OEM clamps that connect the mufflers to the cats. These fit perfectly with the Top Gear mufflers, the stuff they send will not. The exhaust sounds good when you wind out it out.
Thanks for all the responses.. I did finally find a local shop that has done it and will do the fister mod.. but for $300. So now my dilemma is spend $300 on on stock muffler or just get the top gear for a couple hundred more
