I do have a Durametric to reset the airbag code but I would like to be sure there will be no issues with the electrical system.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi My car is a 996 2002 c4s US. I would like know if you think there could be an issue if I drive my car with the passenger seat removed? Im doing some work on the seat I want to take my time and I would like to be able to enjoy the car during this period. I do have a Durametric to reset the airbag code but I would like to be sure there will be no issues with the electrical system. I do unplug the battery when I work on electrical components on the car but I was trying to see the possible problem if the seat is removed and ignition key is turned on. Thanks Hugo

POST 2Original post

The only issue I can think of is the air bag light. You should be fine. hopefully, someone else will chime in with their experience

POST 3Original post

The only issue you will encounter is the air bag light. That's it.

POST 4Original post

There is a positive, the person in the back seat will actually have some leg room!

POST 5Original post

I don't think the airbag light will come on unless the seat belt is in it's receiver.

The airbag light stays on with the seat removed.
