Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In a few weeks I hope to be starting my rim refinish project. I put together a photo of my narrowed down choices with the original on the lower right. To me the original fish blends in too much with my silver and I'm looking for more of a pop but not all the way to chrome. Black hyper or silver hyper, hmmm... Hope he has a few samples I can see live when I take the rims to them... The pic of my car is recent and attached for comparison. R.

POST 2Original post

I prefer stock but to each his own. Look forward to seeing your pick on the car.

POST 3Original post

How about something like an anthracite wheel? That might give you some nice contrast without being too flashy...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, just Googled it and I see what you mean. Good idea and certainly something to consider, thanks R.

POST 5Original post

I just ordered a set of BBS CH-R wheels in anthracite finish for my turbo. I'll use them with my winter tires, which is half of the year where I live. I'll post photos this week. Anthracite is very popular now and it would look great with a silver car...

POST 7Original post

when hyper silver is done right its hard to beat. I have silver and black hollow spokes and like both. But if I refinish my silver set ill go with GT silver. My favorite would be racing gold but need a high quality aftermarket mesh wheel to pull that off.

POST 8Original post

i really like the "titanium" finish that porsche has specd the newer model rims. dark, but light...kinda a black chrome with brass/copper undertones. very nice. when i source a good used set of rims ill be taking them to the paint shop to get them done that colour.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes i starting to lean that way Hardback. Do you have a pic for us CDL? R.

POST 10Original post

I need to refinish my winter wheels which were stock 17". Interesting choices to consider.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yuh, he's nice looking but I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the Hyper Silver color for my guy especially being Artic Silver...

POST 15Original post

I agree. To me silver and gold is like purple and brown... Both Hyper Black or Hyper Silver should look great. BBS's version of Hyper Black involves a multi-paint process as there is translucent silver sprayed over a black basecoat which also looks ****.

POST 17Original post

Yeah although his car looks nice, the silver and gold thing doesn't blend for me personally.

That's exactly what I like about the anthracite wheels - very similar to titanium. Here's an example of the wheel I just bought on a car the same color as mine (obviously this photo is on a 991).

POST 20Original post

I just go onto the porsche site and build a new 991....titanim comes up as an option. Lokks very sharp especially on silvery type cars

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do you mean these CDL, Platinum? I might have missed the Titanium choice... R.

POST 22Original post

your original post shows the stock finish on the right, but on the left shows a wheel with a gloss certainly not chrome. what is that finish called? i like it...

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes me too espanolie, I'm hoping it's Hyper Silver. Ralph
