On previous track car (50/50 weight balance), I used Hawk HT10 and was pleasantly surprised that they had cold bite for the street and can hold up to hard track stops.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for brake pad suggestions for 02 C2 on street tires, that I will not change pads on track vs. street. I drive in the instructor group/advanced group with previous cars at most tracks. On previous track car (50/50 weight balance), I used Hawk HT10 and was pleasantly surprised that they had cold bite for the street and can hold up to hard track stops. I have done some searching and see that Pagid RS29 (Yellow) front and Pagid 14 (Blacks) rear seems to be a common setup. Any other suggestions?

POST 2Original post

I'm in the same boat. Just picked up my 02 c2 3wks ago. I might try the project mu CR pads if they make them. Great track pads and not too bad on the street. I've never had much trouble with cold bite on any track pads. My larger concern is noise and chewing up rotors when cold with more aggressive pads.

POST 3Original post

Performances Friction PF-08 front and rear. I have a primary C2 track car I still drive to the events and these pads are very good on the street starting out in the morning. They are fabulous at 'putting me in the belts' on the track. Repeated 140 to 50 mph slowdowns at Road Atlanta and they have never hinted at fading.

POST 4Original post

+1 on PFC08. They are streetable as well. Apexperformance.net sells them and they are an RL sponsor.

POST 5Original post

I have some used PFC pads. They have a 15 minutes of use....before my motor took a dirt nap April 2013. I can PM some pics tonight with part #'s and cost if interested.

POST 6Original post

Pics of the pads. 1st two are the 01's (rear) while the last two are the 08's (front). Over in the racing forum 08's were preferred on the front....01's and 06's were a toss up on the rear. These were $515 + shipping. I'd let them go for $460 shipped. Sorry the pics are large.

POST 7Original post

Sebro slotted rotors... PFC08/06 pads... Very decent cold bite... pulls your eye ***** out under heavy breaking when warmed up! But the break dust is INSANE!!! And the SQUUUUUUEEEEEEELLLLLIIIINGGG wakes up dead people! I would most likely go with the same rotors but I will try a set of less aggressive pads next time for a predominantly weekend car.
