Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It's possible that I could sell the driver-side can by itself for enough to purchase a set of used 3.4 mufflers, but I'd rather find someone who is interested in a project to trade with.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So...I have a set of Tubi mufflers. The passenger-side muffler has developer a rattle. I think this rattle could be fixed by a competent welder - and thus far, I have resisted the urge to cut it open and fix it myself (as I am NOT a competent welder).
But, before I do something rash, I wanted to ask if anyone is interested in swapping mufflers. If you have an old set of cans that will fit a '99 C4, and you're interested in a straight trade for a set of Tubi-style mufflers (with the caveat that one has a rattle that needs to be addressed), let me know.
If nobody is interested in trading, I'll cut open the Tubi and see if I can fix the rattle.
soooo......you want to trade someone your problem for stock cans even up? I have a great set of stock 3.4 cans but that deal makes no sense. How about I sell you mine for $300 something and you send me your Tubis. That's a win win right?
The tubi mufflers sell for $2,500. While I'm not operating under the misconception that they're worth
anything
like that at this point, they may be worth an even trade for someone. It's possible that I could sell the driver-side can by itself for enough to purchase a set of used 3.4 mufflers, but I'd rather find someone who is interested in a project to trade with.
I understand that the deal makes no sense to you - but for someone who's handy with a welder and wants a set of Tubi mufflers, it might not be so incomprehensible.
Given the cost of the Tubi hardware I would think you'd dash over to the nearest reputable exhaust/muffler shop or welding shop and have the noisy muffler fixed.
That was my first instinct, but my muffler "guy" that I've used for years is out of business, and I haven't found a new one yet. That guy was terrific, but he was a lousy businessman...he made me a custom crosspipe from scratch for my Corvette and only wanted $40 for it. I made him take $60. The guy was an AMAZING welder, but he had absolutely no concept of what to charge for time + materials.
