I use non-ethanol in all my small engines/outboards...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just filled the tank with 92 Octane Preminum @ $1.98 a gallon !!! This will be a High Octane Summer !!
Not only will my Porsche to be driven frequently, but my Pontoon boat will see much activity with the kids and grandkids.
Plus my Children and Grandchildren are in to racing Dirt Bikes across the region, also into Water Sports like Jet Ski's ect...
Will you have a "High Octane Summer ?"""
Our gas taxes are high so our regular is barely under a $2. I filled up at the station around the corner and 93 was $3.18 a gallon or something like that. I went out for a drive a few days later and a gas station 7 miles down the road had it for $2.43. I was pissed lol.
Imo000, you are such a pessimist, Alabama is "OPEN" as of yesterday says MawMaw Ivey....

Not only are tracks open, but lakes ect. Social Distancing is still observed, but life must go on !!
Fair enough, if you could be sure to contain it to yourself (if you even knew you had it, or were exposed) - this is the problem with contagions... The best price I've paid in NY (Long Island) is $2.69 for Shell V- Power Nitro+ 93
IF I get the virus, it will probably be from contact with my Grandchildren, no one else comes within "fist bump" distance to me...mutually agreed upon..
This always happens to me, I have a serious knack for always choosing the station with the highest prices. I was in Hershey last week and stopped at a Shell station (I rarely pass Shells when looking for gas) but later found that they were about $0.60 more per gallon than everywhere else along my road trip. Oh well, the Shell 93 V-Power gas is good stuff...
I can honestly say that I've been driving the cool cars more during quarantine than I did before quarantine. I've driven the 996 pretty much every weekend that it hasn't been raining.
Last week I had to go to the office a couple of times to pick up files and even though I have a company car, I drove the M5 instead.
It was total anarchy there with mid-level employees parking wherever the hell they want. It's the first sign of societal breakdown I tell ya!
You will get it, I will get it and we all will get it before the vaccine is available to everyone. Chances are, you will have no idea where you go it from but if you do and it is you grandchildren, I hope they never find out that they are responsible for it. People go out like nothing happend and this will spread like a wildfire. It will because that's all it does. People need to use their heads and common sense. Regardless what some politicians are telling you, do what you think is needed to protect yourself from getting it.
Kinda like the engines , and especially the M96, I have several "underlying" conditions that can take me out at any time, like heart conditions ect. I would never let my Grandchildren know that I thought they gave the "death nail"..even if it were highly likely..
You always see the bad side, lighten up !! "if I am gonna get it" like you said, why not this Summer instead of next Summer? I would be better able to fight it off this Summer than next Summer !!
Anyway back to the High Octane, I plan to burn a LOT of it !! Me and a few Porsche Hooligans are planing a trip to the "Back of the Dragon" in Virginia !!!
Esso 94 in Canada (Toronto) $3.25 US a gallon. I too am a boater, ATV'er. I feel that the gas prices overall are not good for the economy, I would rather pay more for gas and reap the financial benefits elsewhere. I probably push through $1200 a summer in fuel for the boats and ATV. Considering my summer is only 3 months, we do ok. Not even sure if the bowrider will go in this year in light of the fact that the nieces/nephew will not be visiting due to social isolation....argh.
You are not imagining anything. From what I've learned, ethanol laden gasoline has less energy available from it. The higher the ethanol %, the less energy, when compared to ethanol free.
I use non-ethanol in all my small engines/outboards... lawnmowers, weedeaters, chainsaw, Pontoon boat. They sit a lot and the very small jets will stop up from corrosion of the ethanol/aluminum. But I have go out of the way to get non-Ethanol, so it's not practical for my Road Going Cars.
My weedeaters and lawnmower, I've gone cordless electric.
If I have to, I pay up for the "Trufuel" they sell at Lowes, HomeDepot, etc..
I have a '74 Honda CB750K. I'll buy 5 gal of ethanol free occasionally from a marina for it.
I wonder how the owners of vintage car collections deal with cars sitting for months and years at a time.
The picture you show is from the Tail in Tenn/NC. The Back is in VA...anything over 80 in VA is a huge fine and possibly jail time (ask Jayson Werth). It's too easy to break 80 mph in a fast car during spirited driving... Good luck and be safe.
Yes, I know the pic is from the "Tail"..Me and a friend of mine scouted out the trip to the Tail years ago, then took the Local PCA Tour Group on it. Three days Fri, Sat, Sun about 30 cars filled the Tapoco Lodge. We had Trips to the Tail, the some day trips on Moonshinner 28, Cherohalla Skyway, Parties, dinners, lunches and Camp Fire Socials. No phone service, no Internet connections, just piece and quite and High Octane Porsche Fun for three days !! It has become a yearly excursion staple for our PCA Club...
A few of us Porsche Hooligans thought we would scout out the "Back" in VA. to see if it would be worthy of suggesting it to the PCA Club...
Where I live in Bama, we are at the end of the Appalachian Mountains and we have many roads we call the "Toes" of the Dragon...you can't exceed 50-60 mph on them, the curves are just too frequent and sharp. Most of the time is spent 40mph and below, great fun though !! Then again we have Barbers Motorsport Track right here (Home of the Porsche Sport Driving School) for the more serious "track rats" that we have 3 PCA events a year there, plus many other "non-PCA Track Events"...
Your Tail excursions sound great!!! Visiting the Tail (and surrounding awesome driving roads) is on my to-do list. Making the trip as a group drive would be a cool adventure...
Feel free to pay the extra to the gas station attendant. What do you feel comfortable with, $5.70 a gallon or so.?Hopefullly you can get the economy going quickly.
A couple of gas stations in nearby Pickens SC had regular for $1.29 per gallon earlier this week. Diesel was $1.89. there is local station with no methanol 93 octane that has always been significantly more expensive due to the low volume they sell. It was about $2.50 when I passed by last weekend.
I highly recommend doing it !! All the PCA members who take "Dragon Trip" just rave about it...And the Tapoco Lodge is excellent, the service, the setting, and they love to cater to Sports Car Groups..
Working in the oil and gas industry and seeing lots of people being laid off makes low gas prices bitter sweet.
The last company I worked for went from over 400 people to 12.
Luckily I left beforehand April 1st.
Everyone knew it was coming, but still it is sad to see.
Grandson Dalton Brazeel get the WIN at Maplesville Al and extend his points lead last weekend !!
He lead wire to wire in the C250 class on a YZ125 and he is 16 only years old, there were 32 riders in the class aged 16-30 ..
Car cruse a couple weeks ago with Black Betty, Bug with a small block, Rat Rod..
Very diverse car club cruise by "Spotted in Alabama", I was the only Porsche represented..
Grandsons on the Pontoon, learned some new "water skillz"
Relaying on the Pontoon while the kids played in the water jumping off the Pontoon Boat..
Stopped for some Ice Cream at the floating Snack Bar on Smith Lake, and a little sight seeing !!
I might be interested in meeting up to do this if timing is right, ToD is great fun, but I have nice twisties in my backyard. Not comparable but nice everyday romps .
Mike
The new model YZ125 has even more bottom end /torque, and still zing up in the stratosphere !! The YZ125 doesn't give up any power/torque to the new super duper 4 stroke 250's..
