Thanks Ahsai and Alpine, yes I want to use incandescent all around and would really like to actually add that option to the car if possible using the dash switch too!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, really enjoying my recently acquired 996 and have been thinking about the additional interior lighting below in the foot well area. I'd love to add this option, has anyone done this and could offer advice or guidance? Thanks Ralph Here's a recent pic I took of my guy!

POST 2Original post

Well we've recently had Nav, caliper painting, cup holders, glove box posts so might as well keep me coming. I use the led strip lights sold in eBay. I bought a few 15ft versions to do my Christmas lights on my house and had some leftover so I'm going to start using them in the car. You just cut it to length and either get a splice connector kit or solder in your own wires. I've been meaning to add some to the frunk and trunk for better lighting. I haven't done my footwell as I don't really look at my shoes that often.

POST 3Original post

Beautiful car and shot. We're twins except for the pumpkin

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Ahsai. I have a real serious hobby; digital photography (mostly cars) and using post processing software to make them more interesting. Thanks to you as well Alpine but if I do it I want to use the same type of lighting as the rest of the interior and I think that's incandescent(sp). I love leds and have used them in some of my other cars with fabulous results and I buy all my supplies for those projects from superbrightleds.com; incredible amount of choices... Love both of you avatars BTW... Ralph

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

and on that same note, since I'm fairly new to 996 help me with the "pumpkin", I have no idea. My front side lights are smoke/clear and equipped with amber bulbs, it's the way I bought it. R.

POST 6Original post

Your car looks so nice that I forgot to answer your question All you need to know here for footwell lighting retrofit here http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutor...well-lighting/ Re pumpkin, sounds like you already have the smoked lens just the bulbs are amber. I thought you have the pumpkins. So you're good in that regard already

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 11702255

Are you looking to keep it looking incandescent "looking" or actually use incandescent bulbs? Because they do have what's called "warm white" LEDs that mimic incandescent color which is more yellowish than blue. This guy used some cheap led strips too.

POST 8Original post

I've replaced all my interior lights and licensed plate lights with LEDs from ECS tuning with excellent result. It's less warm but does give it a much more contemporary look. http://www.ecstuning.com/Porsche-200.../Lighting/LED/

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Ahsai and Alpine, yes I want to use incandescent all around and would really like to actually add that option to the car if possible using the dash switch too! The interior lighting in these cars is SO nice I don't want anything to not blend in so that's my chain of thought. I tried the link Ashai but don't have permission to read the tutorial, I'll try to set up that account later this afternoon. Thanks again for your help, we'll get there! Ralph
