Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don't have any pics, but I ran the Corvette up from San Diego to Huntington Beach to have breakfast with an old friend, and then I decided to head up to Big Bear for the night.

Suggestion
Since the road was cold, I wasn't setting any records this morning - but it was still an amazing blast downhill.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

for Old Man Winter 2015-2016, 3:00 pm this afternoon, February 27th. 70 degrees. Thanks for playing, but it's time to move on to Spring.
Let's see some Springtime pics. Hope you all like the best color combo ever.
Nice stable! Looks like you have better luck keeping the guards red from moving to guards orange. My 928 faded badly as did the painted top trim pieces on my 944S2 Cab.
Old man winter died for me on 7/27/2003... when I moved to Florida.
Too bad they never made the 928 in Turbo... otherwise you could have another theme shared between the 3.
Who let JI back in here?
Made it to Daytona yesterday, took both cars. Bikes will probably go back on the 996. On the way down:
- 991 in the Chicago area
- 993 in the Chattanooga area
- 996 cab in Atlanta area, drove with him for minutes, but didn't seem too interested
I also raced a AC Cobra kit car on 95 in FL, dropped it down to 4th and got on it, he tried accelerating, then downshifted and before the gap came up, he couldn't get me. Man, those cars look dangerous!

Nice pic. Nice weather. But having lived in that part of the country a while you are experiencing a false spring. Won't last. But enjoy what you have while it does.
We've been having nice weather here. Had to use the A/C once or twice. But it is due to turn off cooler and wetter again maybe by Tuesday unless the mother of all high pressure ridges strengthens again and continues to deflect storms.
996TT by far the best of the bunch. 951 is light and whippy and that engine is like a slingshot with a turbo that spools up effortlessly. The 928S4 is like Elvis - coolest man to ever walk the face of the planet, but I wouldn't want him as a dance partner anymore. BTW, if I were ranking the '99 C4 coupe I had before the 996TT, it would be right behind the 996TT. 98% of the turbo experience at 40% of the price.
Thank you!
Yikes! That's about what I actually paid combined for two of the three.
Yeah, but when you get it done, your 930 will be worth all 3 of mine plus the house.
Both the 951 and 928 have had resprays by the PO's, so they both have clear coat. Come to think of it all3 have basically been resprayed as the 996TT got badly keyed when it lived there with its PO. I don't have an issue with paint work on a car as long as it's been done properly.
Thanks!
Hmm, maybe next mod on the list?
It's just made of concrete, but thanks!
Cobra kit car - would have been even better if you did have the bikes on the 996 when that happened.
Well, that sucks, but maybe you'll get an early weather present like we did.
The San Diego guys can't help it. I was the same damn way when I lived out there. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. See you guys in about 11 years when we ship the princess off to college.

Can't wait to go to one of those fancy Super Bowl parties at Jay's place. Hey, who will you guys be rooting for after the Bolts leave town? Should I start stocking up on Rams gear now? There's always room on the Chiefs' bandwagon.
I don't have any pics, but I ran the Corvette up from San Diego to Huntington Beach to have breakfast with an old friend, and then I decided to head up to Big Bear for the night. I pulled the lid off as soon as I hit the 330 and blasted all the way up the mountain with no roof. With the exception of a few douche bags who refused to use the turnouts as decency demands, it was a great run up. Temps were in the 70's until I got above the 5,000 foot mark!
I headed back down this morning early enough that I was the only car I saw - and with the roof in place, a 1996 C4 Corvette is a BLAST to drive on windy mountain roads. Everyone who has uttered the phrase "Corvettes are fast cars...in a straight line!" has never had the pleasure of driving a decently set up Corvette. Since the road was cold, I wasn't setting any records this morning - but it was still an amazing blast downhill. With the 3.73 gearing I selected for the rear end, it makes a boatload of torque in any gear at any RPM, and having the V8 crushing down on the front tires allows one to dive into corners at speeds that would leave my 996's front tires scrubbing for grip and plowing a straight line through the first quarter of some of those turns.
This was the dilemma that faced me Sunday morning...it's a good problem to have.
When you see a Corvette next to a 911, you start to get an idea of just how low you sit in a Corvette...the 996 isn't exactly a monster truck. However, the nose on the Corvette takes some getting used to - it's about a foot longer than it appears from the driver's seat.
Sorry Macster, I wasn't ignoring you - I just noticed your post at the bottom of the page. I don't know, here's the long range forecast showing that after tomorrow, it's pretty much highs in the 60's & 70's until nearly St. Pat's. Usually after that, except for maybe a freak storm, we're done here. SoCal it ain't, but no complaints from me.
Nope. It's pink. That's right, pink. Pink I say. I live with my wife and kids in a pink house. Right there for all the world to see. Had it repainted 3 years ago and the wife and I were all set to change to yellow, and both my teenage, macho-jock sons threw a fit. Apparently, when I die, that house is still gonna be pink.
I was doing my afternoon chores yesterday in Daytona....

I would love to own a red Ghia one day. Always loved those cars since I had my '74 red VW Bug. One day I'll have one, that one in front of your car is a nice example! Oh and that 914 isn't bad either
Oh man, don't encourage him - now we're gonna have to hear stories about how he designed a 914 hat before he did the 996 stuff and blah blah blah . . .
Nice Paul. Hey, did you find anybody to street race you down there yet?
Oh, and did you bring your electron microscope in case you need to do an emergency oil change?
Chapter 1:
I was born a poor black child. We had nothing to eat but dirt, and we couldn't even afford dirt. After many years of eking out this hardscrabble life, one day a celestial idea came to me.... a hat!!!! A magical hat. A wonderful magical hat, the likes of which the world had never seen!
Using a twig cut from a nearby elderberry bush, I began sketching ideas into the nearby dirt. The design was as elusive to me as as a bear finding porridge at the right temperature. Too big.... too small.... too much detail.... not enough detail...
As the hours begat days, and the days begat weeks, and the weeks begat months, my hands.... first bloodied but now heavily calloused from that twig, continued with their destiny to design this most glorious of head coverings.
To be continued....
