To be critical- mine are a little more glossy than I wanted but overall I like the tone and how they changed the look of the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Made a mistake this past week- took my car to Midas for new tires and they gouged up the rims pretty bad. Lesson learned, in the future will look for places that have the touch-less system. The funny part was they painted over their gouges and had me look at them. Needless to say their paint job sucked. I spoke with the owner and they are arranging for the wheels to be fixed. I'm thinking about asking the wheel repair shop if I can pay extra and have these painted graphite/ grey black. I've seen some online and like they way they look on the arctic silver. Thoughts? I would love to see pics of yours if you painted the turbo twists!!!

POST 2Original post

Search for Wheel Dynamics. They posted some really nice looking rims they have done.

POST 3Original post

Different style turbo wheels, but you get the idea: DSC_0005_zps1y877zez.jpg DSC_0002_zps6gfki3ek.jpg

POST 4Original post

Here is my 03 4S fresh out of Wheel Dynamics. They refinished them matte black with a machined lip and painted the center caps. I love it, car looks great.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Those both look awesome! I think I have picked the color I want and it is anthracite. I found a picture online with this setup- Looks great.

POST 6Original post

Both CRM and SUP's pics above appear to have the matte finish. I think that looks way better than glossy. The black/gray tires are going to draw attention but to me the glossy takes away from the rest of the car. I think I see more glossy than black so folks like it but my taste leans toward matte.

POST 7Original post

Let me add that matte black/gray does a great job of masking break dust. Wheels look better between washes.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got these back from being powder coated- Not exactly what I wanted color wise but overall very happy with the final outcome.

POST 9Original post

Hm. The wheels look nice, but the color might look better on a seal grey car - the contrast with the arctic silver doesn't hit me where I live - but if you like 'em, that's what matters. If you've ever considered a wheel swap, those wheels in that color might just catch the eye of some other forum member...so that might be a way to go if you're not sold on the combo...

I can see what your talking about with the color coordination- these would look great on a seal grey car for sure. But I was looking for a small change up with the typical arctic silver set up and I think I found it. We will see in time if I still like the set up. If I don't- may consider trading or selling? The cool thing about this past month is I found a local Porsche independent (precision) and a good place to have wheels done as well. I did the IMS, AOS and RMS... Tires replaced and wheels are done now... LED brake lights and LED clear side markers done... Now it is time for the double DIN navigation... Exhaust (hack)... Then on to suspension... Plan on having this for the long haul so may as well set it up how I want it.

POST 11Original post

crmcgregor, those are exactly the type of wheel I'm looking for on my arctic silver C2. Wheel Dynamics did an awesome job on those. Now if I can only find a set of 18" wheels that fit my '99 and have them done like that. NB choices are few and far between. Very nice. Have a good one.

Thanks man. Yeah they turned out great! Would 993 twist fit? Similar spoke could do the same look maybe...

We may have one set in this design for the Narrow Body, we took one in a while back but we would have to do some searching, if you are seriously ready to do something call us to drop us a message so we can move forward! Wheel Dynamics [phone removed] www.wheeldynamics.com [email removed]

I just bought four very very nice wheels from them, beautiful refinish work and they took my dog ugly old chromed turbo twist (not hollow ones) rims in trade. Eli is the owner, they are in South El Monte. And they have a great variety of styles. And all the pictures of what they sell are pictures they take themselves...no using catalog or other source pictures, they shoot them right there.

POST 15Original post

Here's mine. Sounds like what you're thinking.

POST 16Original post

A couple more angles. My exhaust tips and license frame are also powder coated to match for a subtle tie-in.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

CD- looks great. Very nice car you have there. I had mine powder coated this week- a few posts up- and they are similar to yours. To be critical- mine are a little more glossy than I wanted but overall I like the tone and how they changed the look of the car.

Yours look great. Maybe they'll be a little easier to clean if they are more glossy. Mine clean ok, but some brake dust has become fused to the wheels on the inside. Let me know if you find a really good wheel cleaner. I've tried a few but they all seem to perform about the same. I don't want to scrub and damage the paint and haven't found a solution yet.

Nice contrast with the paint and doesn't have that overplayed murdered out look. Really nicely done.
