Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

That’s the one, you need to remove the top stop completely as it looks like there’s two installed on that regulator, so the lower stop is in place already.
Leading evidence: 'Install on' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install on' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

To verify this is the case run the window up, then while looking at the tracks see if the regulator slide contacts a little plastic and rubber stopper before it is all the way down...

Indeed, I believe the Cabriolets also use a different setting also.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello gents
As of recently my drivers side window regulater decided it's had enough of life, and it died.
The sounds it make was horrible, and this is why.
Wires inside somehow to twisted and tangled up and window got stuck in down position)

Anyways, I marked the glass and where the bottom legs of the regulator where before I removed the original one to have a baseline, but when I installed something must have gone wrong Bc this is as low as it goes. Window goes fully up and makes a good seal all around the window (used the sheet of paper method), and the window will go down/up to seal when I open/close the door (although it "drops" a lil more than it used to) when opening the door.

I tried to lower the window as much as i could onto the pinch brackets it goes in. Why is this as low as it will go? Any ideas?
Help me Obi wan Kenobi, your my only hope.
The window regulators have 2 settings and one is for the boxster that doesn't drop as low
Would imagine that is why but don't quote me I'm no obi wan more a jar jar binks lol
Indeed, I believe the Cabriolets also use a different setting also. Anyway, you need to adjust the lower stop - located just above the regulator mount stud at the lower rear corner.
There is a screw on the bottom of the track of the new regulator which prevents it from going lower. I believe they are set this way to fit a Boxster. Remove the screw and the window will drop the remaining inch.
The 996 and the Boxster share the same window regulator. There are plastic bumpers that need to be removed when you install the regulator if it's going into a 996.
From Pelican DIY section on regulator replacement.
Followup from the Pelican Staff: I've had this happen a few times in the past. The regulators had an extra stop riveted on to the regulator slide track, and I had to remove the upper one for it to lower all the way down. To verify this is the case run the window up, then while looking at the tracks see if the regulator slide contacts a little plastic and rubber stopper before it is all the way down... If so you must remove this stopper. If there is another one riveted on to the track down lower you're finished. If not, you'll need to rivet the stop you removed on to the lower indentation. - Casey at Pelican Parts
