Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Planning on keeping the head unit factory, mostly curious if any audiophiles or anyone on here that has used the speakers can give an opinion on quality and sound for the price.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am in need of upgrading the sound system in my 4S and this looks like a pretty nice start... Just curios if anyone has used this company and kit before, FOCAL are supposed to be pretty nice I believe- is it worth the $$?

I think many here have used them. I have talked on the phone with them twice recently asking questions about my future plans for a double din kit, they have been friendly and helpful.
That's all good to hear! I like that the speakers are wired and look really well done. Planning on keeping the head unit factory, mostly curious if any audiophiles or anyone on here that has used the speakers can give an opinion on quality and sound for the price. Thanks to all!
Rod Birch is the owner and a stand up guy. He also knows this stuff really well and fully supports DIY installation.
Focal is known for sound quality. The 3-way speaker system will definitely be an upgrade and his packages are plug and play. If you send your existing dash speakers to them, they can even mount them for you to simplify the installation. It might be a good idea to change the head unit at the same time, they can do a wiring harness that makes it relatively easy and you can pick up bluetooth functionality etc.
Just bought a head unit and amp from them and would highly recommend them. They may be the most customer focused small business I've ever come across. I'm sure they'll take great care of you.
Great guys to work with. Rod is the man, when it comes to our cars. I did the Alpine BT149 deck, Alpine amp and the Focals in the dash and doors. Adding their custom subs that go behind the passenger and driver seat was aural perfection. I must have called them at least 5 times before and after install and they are always super helpful. I highly recommend them!
Awesome thank you everyone for the input, I will just have to call and talk to Rob and put together a game plan. I may do the head unit, it would be nice as long as the lights can be orange like the rest to minimize the modernized christmas tree look in the older interior -
Another solid thumbs up for these guys. I did the Hartz speakers at the 4 corners and they sound wonderful. Can't imagine needing the focal upgrade. I also did the subs behind both seats, the amp, and double din head unit. Not inexpensive but my 99 Conv sounds incredible.
I happen to live near Sacramento so did a drive out to his store. I was curious about upgrading and he was very helpful. showed me around his store and back install shop, discussed past P cars where he designed custom subs for the rear, had a good selection of products to look at and best of all was not pushy to get me to spend money. He knows his stuff and only sells what he believes is the best fit for your car.
CAI is a beyond-solid resource. I purchased a new head unit and install kit for my 996 from them; the wiring harness, instructions and service were top shelf. During the install I managed to misplace one small part (the clip for the microphone) and they express-mailed me a new one for just the mailer cost. +996
I just put mine in over the weekend. Purchased everything from Rod. He's the best. Car year is REALLY important for this. If you have a 2002 or earlier then the installation is a breeze. '03-'04 cars have some issues. Mine is an '03 with the MOST system. There is now a simple cure for that but wiring the translation box is a bit tricky. Mine also has the 'HiFi' sound, not Bose. So the HU sounded horrible. The new single din HU (Kenwood) sounds amazing by comparison. Light years better that the CDR23. With help from Rod with the wiring harness the new unit plugs right into the amp and original speakers.
