Like the title says, I've been a fan of the BHP XPS brake pads for dual use for nearly a decade, but now I can't get them anymore.

I had some ****ty mintex pads for street use only for a while and those just got me in trouble for not being able to stop.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Like the title says, I've been a fan of the BHP XPS brake pads for dual use for nearly a decade, but now I can't get them anymore. What is an alternative at this point? I hear the cool carbon are good, but don't last very long at all, so it seems like they're not an option for me. TBH, I don't get to the track anymore, but I still want track like brake performance. I had some ****ty mintex pads for street use only for a while and those just got me in trouble for not being able to stop. Thanks for the suggestions!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh, also, most pads now seem to have those balance weights. I should be getting those, right? (1999 C2, standard brakes).

POST 3Original post

Stoptech now makes a Street Performance pad that may work well for you: http://www.paragon-products.com/Brak...352.949.02.htm http://www.paragon-products.com/Brak...352.939.10.htm

POST 4Original post

I've been happy with the carbotech bobcat pad's I put on a few months ago.

POST 5Original post

Unless you are intentionally trying to damage the upper range of your hearing, you might want to pass on the cool carbons...

POST 6Original post

I've had cool carbons on my car for a year . I followed the bedding in procedure as described and they are not noisy at all. http://www.coolcarbonperformance.com/bedding.html I'm happy with the performance and low noise and dust . I'd use them again . I find them a lot quieter than ebc yellow stuff pads

POST 7Original post

Ferodo pads worked well for me. Minor squealing on the street but better performance than stock pads both on track and street.
