When we removed Yogi's M96 recently we had to be in between the locks at one point and used jackstands with the QuickJack ready to raise the car once we were ready to "drop" the engine.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It does make it annoying to crawl way under there though...

POST 2Original post

Same here. I put a jackstand between the rails.

POST 3Original post

I'm good with the QuickJack locks in place, but additional safety is never frowned upon. When we removed Yogi's M96 recently we had to be in between the locks at one point and used jackstands with the QuickJack ready to raise the car once we were ready to "drop" the engine. Jackstands and QuickJack really makes it tough to get two jacks underneath! The QuickJack works well for dropping an engine, but a 2-post and a hydraulic table would be much better I think.

POST 4Original post

You can never be "too cautious" when you're crawling beneath something that can crush you like a bug if your lift fails... It can and does happen! Same goes for jack stands etc... Always use backups/safety's...
