Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If you need a key blank, I highly recommend www.keysinthepost.com . It was about $33 total. Not only did Chris send the key blank that works great, he also included a little bonus, the little Porsche emblem I was missing on my key fob! You rock Chris!

POST 2Original post

I have used them several times....they are great!

POST 3Original post

Yes, I got a couple of new keys from them. I keep one (without the rest of the fob) in my wallet. No more worrying about locking my keys in the frunk, or the car deciding to lock itself when I step out to grab my mail. --Yes I had both happen to me with another car. I had to "break" into my car after work once, and at the mailbox I had to walk home (1/4 mile) to get a spare key with my car still running. I will never post a picture of my key online! Someone could easily have my key duplicated!!

POST 4Original post

How do they deal with the transponder chip programming?

If you can, post a pic of your key. I need some spares. I only have one key for one car.

You are brilliant....great idea to put one in your wallet!

Ditto, that's where the one I ordered is now...

POST 8Original post

Great advice, I just sent in a request for 2 keys and 2 remotes, then it is off to the dealer for the $$$ programming!

POST 9Original post

NVM** so..with that 'hack' with the pill from the old key..does that pill need to be glued to the ignition switch cover? is that what i am seeing in the pics? or can it be put into the VW keyfob?

POST 10Original post

Either way. Moving the pill to the VW key makes that key work. "Glueing" the pill makes any key that is correctly pinned work. If it were me, I would use some double sided foam tape to attach the pill.
