Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I run Rennline extended studs on all my cars for this reason, and because it makes wheel installation MUCH easier.

So my winters are 265's vs the recommended 225's .
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I need a lil help with wheel spacers & bolts. Just went to bolt up my winters for the first time (they came off of a Cayman) and the fronts hit the strut. I think they will work with some spacers but I've never done this before. Can anyone help? Photos of the stock vs winter tires & wheel spacing. I couldn't find any ET backspacing numbers for winters.
If you have your owners manual, look for "wheel track" information. Then you have to do a little math to figure out what size spacers you need for front and rear to try and maintain roughly the same track.
You have to consider wheel offset and tire width, and then calculate the differences front and rear to maintain the track. Elephant Racing has a ton of spacer options, and you can get a kit with several options.
note that you very well may need longer wheel studs to accommodate your spacers. I run Rennline extended studs on all my cars for this reason, and because it makes wheel installation MUCH easier.
I jotted down the info from my manual and have it posted in my garage for reference.
Your stock offset is the "et" number 52. U need to id the winter wheels and look up the et or measure the wheels. Just google how to measure wheel offset and a bunch of calculators will pop up. Once u figure that out search for offset calculators to compare the wheels.
Ok to be clear all four wheels and tires are the same? 9 wide and a 265 tire. That seems very odd. What model cayman? A 987 should have the same space to the strut as a 996.
Also is it hitting the strut tube or the spring perch?
Actually, you may have been right. User error. I looked at all of the wheels & they looked the same. The ET castings are a bit difficult to find but it does look like they are staggered. I'll try again later tonight and just hope it's my own stupidity!
Humble moment...
I'm 43 & have wrenched on things since a kid. Even professionally for 10 years.
The suggestion that I was trying to put the rear wheel on the front felt like too dumb of a mistake for me to make.
But that's exactly what I did...
2008 Cayman wheels with winter tires fit perfectly... Other than a mystery rubbing noise when turning right.
Thanks for help everyone. I'm old enough to start forgetting the basic things. ha
