It is a Generic "HAA key" and fits 996,986, Audi, VW, Cayenne ect....fits anything that uses the HAA key blade...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yup, just brought my 996.2 immobilizer and its 1 'Audi key, down to ECU Doctors in Ft Lauderdale. When thats done will bring them my 996.1 & TT to do. As not even 1 of my key fobs has worked for years now....
They have a BOGO for $298 sale on.
I asked if I could tell our forum its still on, O said yes, till end of week.
$298.00 for 2 keys with new fobs & blades programed to your immobilizer.
Just got to provide them with your immobilizer and key. If you want the key fobs to be 100% tested there, send in the DME also. But without the DME, Eric said its 95% everything will work fine. If anything it will just be fob functions that don't all work Then they will need to get the dme and key and immobilizer to get it right.
If you're not local, maybe just send them everything, or not..?
ECU doctors has done prompt good work for me in the past. Jorge is gone now but the other guys are still there...
I've got no skin in this at all, no connection to ECU DR. Just thought I'd tell the forum about the BOGO since all the threads on how expensive the Porsche programed keys are.
jmho
No buttons on Audi key. Not even sure the thin Audi key comes apart with a pill inside. ECU dr said leave it alone our techs can handle it....
Just have that 1 Audi key that starts car and operates locks/glove compartment/etc. No fob function on key at all. Thats how the car came, with 1 Audi key, go figure....?
One of my 99's came with that key...
It is a Generic "HAA key" and fits 996,986, Audi, VW, Cayenne ect....fits anything that uses the HAA key blade...
It does have a "transponder pill" inside and it does come apart to expose the pill.......( but no remote functions )
BTW , just to clarify the ECU DR special, does the $298 include 2 Porsche remotes/keys and programming ? Smoking deal !!
If so I wonder how/where they are sourcing the fobs ?
Yes, $298 was what I was told when i called and asked if the deal was still on. Asked twice after that to make sure. Once on the phone and once in person when dropping off the immobilizer/key. Talked to O and the head tech Eric. Both nice guys trying to help. But to be real, haven't payed the bill yet or got the fobs/immobilizer back yet. But also doubt they wouldn't do what they say, as they have always followed thru in the past for me.
Not sure about where the remotes come from in the bogo deal.
Years ago Jorge @ ECU DR had 2 different types iirr. The Porsche 1 for $275+ programing or aftermarket for $95 + programing. He said they were identical in his testing and made in the same factory, But 1 was a Porsche part with Porsche crest. The other had no crest on the fob but did look identical other wise to me. No clue what I'll get in the bogo. Its got to be better than what I've got now and its warrantied. no choice was given. And Jorge been gone for a year.
In my experience, with 8 brand new off the dealers floor P cars, 986/987 996,,, pure Porsche Fobs, not so great imho, as none of them seem to last. The little circuit boards seem to be fragile at best. After years, the half's don't seem to snap together all that well with the little oring seal not sealing so well. And the transmitters always seem to go out eventually. My Ford supper duty FOB unfortunately goes thru wash/dryer cycles regularly, lol, and still works like new. And is clean as a whistle....
You can call and ask, hopefully you'll get the same answers as me... Tell them, Fred told me about the bogo deal....
