The A/C compressor will not engage the clutch with the engine running, but once again with the engine off and using the Durametric i would be able to hear the A/C close the clutch and see it move when i requested it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a weird issue that just popped up on a 2001 Carrera. I had a CEL for a Evap canister circuit open, When i read the codes that is the only one that came up. I used a OBD Link MX+ to clear the code, and after that went to start the car and now have 4 more codes. P1219 - Pedal Sensor Potentiometer P1577 - Accel Pedal Potentiometer #1 P1578 - Accel Pedal Potentiometer #2 P1503 - Throttle Jacking Unit Position Error The Engine did fire up but was hunting, idle eventually settled but Accel Pedal is dead and unresponsive. Is it possible that the OBD MX+ made it loose sync between the APP and Throttle while clearing the codes? I've never had this happen and have used this OBD MX+ on many cars previously to clear codes, check data and whatnot and never had a problem. Also almost all the lights under the Cluster are illuminated while the engine is on. Any advice where to start on this one?

POST 2Original post

Get / Borrow / Buy another OBD2 code reader. Clear all the errors, and see what happens.

POST 3Original post

Disconnect the battery and leave it that way for 15-30 minutes . Then connect . Turn ignition key to on but don't engage the starter . Leave key on for one minute and do NOT touch the gas peddle . Turn key off . Then attempt to start the car and see if any changes .

It does sound like it might of bricked or messed something up. Do you know anybody with a Durametric? If you are in a big city, somebody has one. Where are you located?

Yea thats what im starting to think also. Im in Poconos PA, But work in Queens Ny every week. But yea it would be nice to have one of those for a little bit.

POST 8Original post

I have had this issue recently too. Sometimes the engine fire then dies. Sometimes it fires and idles high and no pedal action. After a lot of troubleshooting I ended up unplugging the TB connector and plugging it back in. Then did a throttle calibrate. Ran fine after that each time. Until it happens again. This is a temporary fix for a failing TB. Im saving for an 82mm and IPD plenum adapter for my 4.0.

when yours fired did it have a ABS, Airbag, PSM OFF, lights on before shutting off, My cluster is pretty lit up while its running. Which is making me think its more than just a APP / TPS sync issue.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Little revival on this topic, So a day or so after i posted this the throttle response came back on its own. I did rent a Durametric to check out what i could but did not find it very helpful. I found out a few months later that the ECU on this car has a Tune from AutoLogic. I don't know if the tune being on there could have caused this to happen when trying to clear the codes for some reason, it doesn't make sense. But a few odd issues still remain, The Fan on the Radiator does not have Low speed anymore. Coolant temp will rise above where it normally use to regulate and when it gets hot enough the coolant fan will come on High speed only. When i had the Durametic rental i was able to force the Fan to low speed with the engine off, but with the engine running it would not allow low speed. The A/C compressor will not engage the clutch with the engine running, but once again with the engine off and using the Durametric i would be able to hear the A/C close the clutch and see it move when i requested it. And last the Driver side heated seat wont turn on, but the passenger side works fine still. These 3 issues were definitely not there before clearing the code with the OBD Link. Does anyone have experience with AutoLogic? I Googled around a bit trying to find Info on AutoLogic and didn't find much, and the few things I did find were ppl not talking good things about it. But the tune was installed on the Car back in 2013.
