Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone! First time post here. Not sure if there is a dedicated post for random broken bits on our 996. Our cars are approaching 30 years now and these cars do have some very brittle bits a pieces that have been difficult to source or replace. To make matters worse, some of these pieces are just not sold. Period. I think random broken bits post would be useful for those looking for replacement parts or suitable replacements. As per my query... I was replacing the rear window regulators on my 996 Cabriolet and found that the rear interior panel was held on in the middle by a metal fastener. Unfortunately Pelican doesn't carry these and I have been told this part is shipped as part of the panel and isn't available for order. Zoom in of the fastener zoom out of pic. Fastener is located below speaker hole Mandatory pic for attention! she isn't ready yet for primetime. Anyone here know of any suitable replacement for this part? I was told that Porsche might carry these if I'm lucky but based on my interactions at VW (for my Jetta) I doubt they carry bits that come as part of a bigger part. Any help would be appreciated!
