The fobs unlock both doors (as long as I do it every five days...) but nothing happens when I try to use the key in the door.
Leading evidence: 'Use key in the door' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use key in the door' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, all,
My door lock cylinder no longer works. The fobs unlock both doors (as long as I do it every five days...) but nothing happens when I try to use the key in the door. Do you know which part needs to be replaced to fix the door lock mechanism?
Thanks!
Part 14 or its just the part that connects to part 14. There r a ton of threads in removing the lock actuators if u do a search. U need to pull it aaprt and see if u have a broken part or if something was not put back together correctly.

Thanks! I was thinking maybe it wasn't that door lock actuator because the door does lock/unlock with the fob (which I was thinking probably still uses that mechanism??).
The key cyplinder mecanism jnterfaces with the lock actuator. U need to pull it apart to see whats wrong. Could be a simple as a broken plastic clip, something not assembled correctly or as bad as a stripped part on the actuator.
Thanks! I'll do that. Also, the central locking button on the dash has not worked since I got the car (a couple weeks ago). The red light comes on when the door is locked with the fob and the alarm is engaged. Could this be related to the door lock issue, or a separate problem that I need to track down, haha.
Thanks again.
A lot of good information here. See #13. Check to make sure the black plastic sleeve connecting the lock to the door latch is attached properly. It slides back and unsnaps from the threaded part.

The key in the door is a manual/physical input into the lock actuator. The botton in the dash is an electronic signal to the immobilizer that activates the lock actuator. On my car i get a double beep when i try to lock the car with the key or the fob which means i have a fault bit if i turn the key and hold it i can feel the actualtor kick back but by holding it i can phisically over ride the electric lock.
The lock system in these cars is a HUGE pita when there is a fault. About the only thing that reads the system is a piwis2 and even the dealers have trounle getting that reader to work. There r a bunch of chinese copies and they r all wonkey.
My advise is to fix the key cylinder asap and dont lock your door until it works. If the batery dies or the fob acts up there will be no way to get into the car.
