After digging around and cleaning engine bay, worst of fears were confirmed as found 2 chewed-thru wires - these 2 wires are the same color as the ones coming from the o2 sensor connector throwing the code ( blue/red and black/white wires) so Im guessing this is what is causing code to pop up (I did replace the o2 sensor before I discovered the broken wires- and have same CEL code popping up )

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone well looks like I got hit with some mice issues. Discovered a nice nest shorty after getting some o2 sensor error codes for bank 1 pre cat o2 sensor. Nest was found on the top part of engine behind throttle body (around the starter) After digging around and cleaning engine bay, worst of fears were confirmed as found 2 chewed-thru wires - these 2 wires are the same color as the ones coming from the o2 sensor connector throwing the code ( blue/red and black/white wires) so Im guessing this is what is causing code to pop up (I did replace the o2 sensor before I discovered the broken wires- and have same CEL code popping up ) these 2 chewed thru wires are too far in too see where they connect to- by feel; one side goes into some hard (possible metal) squaring thing (maybe a different sensor?) any idea what they may attach to on the other side? I cannot find the connection they were chewed from, I would love to just re-solder/connect the wires and hope it solves my CEL but I cannot feel or find where they connected to. Or maybe bypass it to where it needs to go somehow. Id appreciate any information or thoughts how I can locate the other end of the wires or how I can bypass. I tried looking at an electrical diagram but it just further confused me. any help is greatly appreciated

POST 2Original post

Not sure of those wires in your pic. My rodent chewed thru o2 wires were located under the air box between the SAI and lid latch area on that flat tray type area that has the o2 wire holders there.... There are 2sets of o2 wire holder pairs on each side on engine bay on that flat tray type area under airbox. IIRR, o2 wires, they go from the wire harness to the holders then down from there on each side of engine bay right to the exhaust.

POST 3Original post

@BlkNmild I think you have more Rodent damage than you have found.....Those 2 wire you show are not going to the 02 Sensors....The 02 Sensor wiring does not go along=over the engine...They go around the body like Allcool shows... You need to fix the 2 wires that you see and search for more damage...

POST 4Original post

Looks like those wires r near the stater. I think u will just have to take intake parts off the top of the motor until u get access. U wont be avle to reach anything until u open it up. For the o2 issue in bank 1 look around the coolant bottle or behind it for another mouse nest or chew marks.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the replies everybody. Looks like imma have to just dig in there. appreciate the Info regarding the o2 wires that run under the coolant reservoir tank. I think I am going to take a look in there and report back. I need to get this CEL off to smog this car.
