Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all. Im new here and just bought a 40th anniversary which seems brilliant. Lovely car and lots of power! One thing that isnt working normally is the dipped / high beam. The dipped beam wont switch on normally via the headlamp switch. What I have to do is switch it to dipped beam then activate full beam, then take the full beam off. Im to work out if it the switch thats faulty or the bulbs - Ive ordered new bulbs anyway but wondering if I should get a switch anyway?) (Sidelights and fogs are all fine). Has anyone had this before - or have any thoughts. Many Thanks Ed.

First of all, welcome to the Porsche party! IMHO, the problem is usually electrical either from a faulty headlight switch or broken stalk (beam selector arm). The Litronics motorized mirror should angle Xenon light downwards when selecting high beams. Unless I'm mistaken, it's not a two step process.

Thanks. Ill likely get a new switch then. Interestingly Ive just had the headlights professionally cleaned up - they were pretty yellow- and now the dipped beam seems to come on via the switch. Maybe a coincidence but at least they work! Ed.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
