So it definitely worked before I installed the door lights.

I would like to buy another set because these have fallen apart on the inside and now it doesn't project the porsche design anymore.

Hello all, excuse the name of the post, but I couldn't think of a better title to talk about this issue I am having. I recently installed LED Door/puddle lights. The lights are from Ali Express, they were cheap, but they work well. Since installing the lights, I am no longer able to lock the doors with the key fob. I can still unlock the doors with the key fob, and I can lock the door with the key, but locking with the key fob does not work. I'm not keen on undoing the instal just to check, and wanted to see if anyone else has ever had this issue. I do remember locking the door with the key fob earlier today. So it definitely worked before I installed the door lights. I'm just not sure how the two are related., and why it only happens one way.
They were only 15$ CAD, so if I really need to remove them, I will. I honestly think they may be a bit much, but would also love to trouble shoot this key fob locking thing as well.
Thoughts?
I have heard of cheap LEDs causing issues with key fob reception on other vehicles -- supposedly interference -- but that seems far-fetched. I'd suggest swapping back to the original lights to 100% confirm the puddles are the cause of the issue. Otherwise, it's possibly a coincidence.
Back in 2019 I bought a set and along with some plug/pigtails to solder onto them so I wouldn't be cutting any of the stock wiring. Once I was all done, I decided that they were 'a bit much' and never installed them.
I kept them because knowing me, I could think they're the best thing
ever
next week or next year.
I have the puddle lights (aftermarket like yours) and have had no issues with my key fob at all. I installed a couple of years ago. I would like to buy another set because these have fallen apart on the inside and now it doesn't project the porsche design anymore. Gives me grins and giggles, lol...
Once you figure this out, any chance you could send me the link if they are not the problem for your fobs?

I removed the lights. The key fob immediately started to function as expected again. It's the lights. They we're pretty cheap, so I don't feel too badly about it. Here is the link to the lights for anyoen else who wants to experiment.

I'm keeping them around, because returning them would be more hassle than what its worth. However, I would not recommend this product.
