The upper arms r angled and can move the top of the upright left to right as well as front to back to adjust caster, thus adjusting wheelbase.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I havent had this problem (especially because Im not lowered), but Im aware that you can solve it using
adjustable caster pucks
in the lower control arms.
Do keep in mind that using those pucks will change the handling characteristic of your car.
You need to find a way to measure what youre adjusting, in order to maintain similar values - as well as handling characteristic - between the left and the right. I dont think using bodywork as reference points for measurements is a good idea, due to the possibility of misaligned body panels with respect to the suspension.
U can also get adjustable upper dog bones.....but there shouldnt be any wheel base change when lowering the rear. Im assuming u got an alignment to adjust the toe as that will change.
If you want to keep the rubber bushing in the LCA then you need something like this.

You can also adjust some caster with the upper dog bones and the toe arm. Though not as much as with a solid puck or the arm I referenced.
Whats the ride height camber and toe?
Did you adjust the camber with only the LCA?
I have found a 997 control arm thats adjustable. Maybe i try those, but they cost A LOT!!! Its from the 997 RSR.
I have found several suppliers for the adjustable control arms. The principle is more or less similar.
I was just afraid that I would put too much tension on the other joints by adjusting these control arms.
My settings are within the normal range. About 1.9 degrees camber.
Not correct. The upper arms r angled and can move the top of the upright left to right as well as front to back to adjust caster, thus adjusting wheelbase. There r several companies that make adjustable fork links, not just porsche, if u dont want to go with a caster puck. But the biggest issue is why your wheels moved back due to the lowering.
Did u get an alignment after lowering the car? What r the numbers?
Edit: not sure if the quote implies a question whether something is wrong with this particular car. If it is intended as a question then the answer is below.
It is not an issue per se in that it would be something specific to this 996 due to something wrong.
Any rear suspension will move the wheel in an arc and lowering by means of changing springs will move the wheel back.
The only way to not have this occur is, in case of a 996, move the rear subframe closer to the body (for instance by removing the rubber bushings as done on the 996 cup cars) and fit shorter coil overs (or cut the top mount attachment from the body and weld them back in higher etc...)
That the wheel moves in an arc (with changing pole/instantaneous center of rotation along its travel) is convingly made visible by seeing where the rear wheel sits when the car is on a lift and wheels off the ground: all the way to the front.
