Yet at the same time, Eurowise offers a set of fog light brackets for the C4S (which aren't compatible with the C2 bumper—I checked) and presumably that doesn't cause any issues.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, everyone. I have a question about mounting fog lights to my C2 that I think those who've done safari conversions would be in a place to answer. As you can see from my hasty photoshopping, what I'd like to do is fit a pair of Hella Comet 450s to the front of my car. I don't mean attach them to the bumper—I mean have proper brackets made and mounted to the crash bar so the fogs are secure and stable. Thing is, there's a big aero dam behind the bumper for funneling air to the radiators. (Plus what looks like a pitot tube, which was a surprise.) That leads me to the conclusion that maybe this isn't possible. Yet at the same time, Eurowise offers a set of fog light brackets for the C4S (which aren't compatible with the C2 bumper—I checked) and presumably that doesn't cause any issues. So maybe it is possible! Either way, if somebody could set me straight here I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Ive thought about doing something like this, but ultimately decided against it for fear of blocking airflow and decreasing the cooling efficiency of my radiators.

POST 3Original post

Yes do NOT block any air flow on the base Carrera it needs all the airflow it can get and then some...

Well that is a bummer. But it's a definite answer from somebody who knows what they're talking about, so I guess it settles things. No fog lights for me.

POST 5Original post

For what purpose are you actually using the fog lights for? For foggy conditions?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19751673

Strictly aesthetics. Everything on the 996 is so smooth, it needs some hard edges here and there.

POST 7Original post

Lol ok. How about a front lip then? edit: or maybe a splitter and/or canards?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19751724

I have absolutely considered a front splitter and even bookmarked one from CSR Automotive in Germany, but the roads are so awful around Chicago Im not entirely sure it would survive.
