Every other in-car navigation system I have used will start off with your car's location centered in the middle of the map and then track its progress.

I took out the CD and it appears I can also run the navigation without having the physical CD running in the CD player.

It worked and I now seem to have the live map working just fine with it centered on my current location as I move.

I must have missed it when reading the manual, but how do I get the PCM 2.0 navigation screen to display my current position on the map and show my movement on the map as I drive? I have the correct Southeastern US CD for my part of the US in the CD drive. When I go into navigation mode and display the map, it always shows a zoomed out view showing most of the United States and even this zoomed out view is not centered on my actual location. I can use the manual controls to zoom in to my actual location but then it stays in that position even if I move. Every other in-car navigation system I have used will start off with your car's location centered in the middle of the map and then track its progress. If I navigate through the menu tree, I can pull up a menu that shows/describes in text my actual GPS location correctly, so it knows where I am located. Yes, the 2005 versions of the maps are wildly out of date, but part of the fun is seeing your car drive through former fields that are now streets. Thanks in advance.

Just to circle back in case someone has the same issue, I have messed with this on and off but never found a solution until today. I once again went drilling down through the menus to see if there was a setting I missed. In the navigation menu, I have seen the reset-to-factory-settings option a few times but didn't want to do it in case that would wipe out all settings and history in the PCM. Today, I didn't care and just did it. Bonus! It worked and I now seem to have the live map working just fine with it centered on my current location as I move. I took out the CD and it appears I can also run the navigation without having the physical CD running in the CD player.
