Initial bite is lower than the genuine Porsche pads they replaced on my car.

Hi I am going to replace my brakes all around on the 911 C2 2003.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I really like Textar brake pads, but they produce
a lot
of brake dust. Brembo pads are equally comparable with respect to brake dust and stopping ability.
Akebono Euro was available for our cars a few years ago. I have them on mine. Brake dust is equal to the dust that collects on the rest of the car. I've always thought stopping was not quite as good as stock pads, then I go on a rally and the car stops quite well under frequent hard braking. I've only been on one track and they also did fine, but I am a beginner on track so prolly shouldn't comment about how good they are on track.
OP - The RS4S are excellent. Formidable street power. Low dust, no noise. Work well enough cold. The Textars are good but, oh lord, the dust!. Same with Pagids. Akebono were same for me as the others commented. Sebro slotted are also a good option for every day discs that can go to the track or AX.
Hawk HPS 5.0. Run them on my GT3 for street and autocross. No dust, no noise ever. Pedal feel is excellent, they last forever and easy on rotors. Wish they made them for our Macan.
+1 for Porterfield RS4's, although I would add that they may not be everyone's cuppa. Initial bite is lower than the genuine Porsche pads they replaced on my car. The upside is that translates into very linear response throughout the range of pressure I've put on the pedal since fitting them. They just keep on keeping on. Also they do make some dust, but not nearly as much as the stockers and it is a gentler gray color than other pads.
FWIW-
TireRack has Hawk HPS 5.0 front pads for sale @ $50 for the front 996 4S, discontinued price. Regular price: $176.72. Don't know if they have them for earlier models. If you are looking for "low dust" maybe give these a try?

YMMV
Those Akebono Euro pads few folks have mentioned have been fantastic for your type of driving with very low dust. If you can get them that would be my top vote. Get something more aggressive to swap in should you ever want to do a DE weekend (highly recommend it!). Good pads and fluid is all you really need for a weekend driving. I've been very happy with Motul and have some Castrol for next flush. It's more expensive but is said to be much better in not absorbing water.
In addition to pads/rotors, I did caliper bolts, pad wear sensors and brake lines. Even at under 40k miles and living in San Diego its whole life, the stock lines were hard as rock.
I had a very different experience with them. Added a kit from ECP with Sebro slotted rotors and DS2500 pads a few months ago.
Not only were the pads extremely noisy, the amount of dust was unbearable. My rims were pink within 10 miles of driving.
I have swapped into a set of ECB Reds. Still in the shop so I haven’t driven them yet.
if anyone is interested in the Ferrodo pads, I would be happy to sell them. Maybe a few hundred miles on them.
Your experience is rather suprising... Those DS2500 did not make any noice on my car and dust at the street driving was very minimal - much less dust compared to OEM pads.
That's what I was told to expect.. I have a Cab which may have added to the noise presence. As for the dust, it was unbearable.. Even my wife asked "Why are your wheel pink?" Ha
The pink wheels may have been due to the rotors rather than the pads. Sounds like iron ore color.
I had the Ferodos on an STi years ago. Noisy and dusty in street use.
