Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Loosen the bolts on the trans plate to the chassis and use a ratchet strap to pull the motor back.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
Need help
I'm trying to get out the scavenge pump but she stuck with maybe 3 or 5mm inside
Already low the engine to have all the bolts.
Thank you
No but the holes in the black trans plate r slotted so the drive train will move back when pulled. I have a different drivetrain and an oversized swaybar. When i lower the motor i have to pull the entire assembly rearward when reinstaliing so it wont hit. This will get u off the firewall and suspension bits. If u r hitting something in the tip u will have to split it from the motor.
Sorry I can speak english but technical term 😅
what is the trans plate ?
i tried this night by up the engine by the right but to much oil has leaked so I stopped.
I think maybe I can move the engine just far enough back but I dont know how to do :/
Or like the back of the car (tires) are on wood to have it higher at the back maybe put the car flat on the ground should be better.
Or last option remove a part of the suspension system to have access.
Thank you for your help
Transmission mounting plate.
support trans
Loosen #5 (4 nuts)
Loosen bolts # 6,7,8(2)
If u need more room remove bolts #8
Hook a ratchet strap to a safe spot in the trans or motor, attach other side to something rigid (a car behind your porsche or a suspension x-member). Pull assembly rearward and it will move away from the firewall.
With the jack under the trans u can remove all the bolts if u want. The slots in the plate should be long enough, the holes in the horseshoe may not be? Lossen the all first and see if it moves far enough.
Its really not this difficult. Just get under the car and do it.
.
I dit it !!!
i remove the black plate and unscrew a little the number 5.
I reassembled the engine a little and move it a little with the jack
Now i clean all before replace all.
Do you know the the tightening torque for the gearbox ?
I know for the scavenge its 10nm but the other
If u r gonna be working in these cars u need this. Which apecific torque #s do u need? The ones for the transmission mounting bolts and nuts?

Also make sure u orientate that scavange pump correctly.
ho thank you
I have the technical book but my english is poor in technical word :/
you can see in color the tork i search.
Normally i took a picture of the scavenge pump inside, so normally i will have the right orientation.
Its the link i posted already. Its a great resource for a 996 owner. Im pretty sure they ship internationally.
