Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I brought it a salvage title thats what I know only
Thank you very much !!
Go to carfax.com and buy a report based on your VIN. It may show a lot of detail or it may not based on how the car was serviced. It will also show registration and accident history.
Carfax or Vinwiki would have details on the history of that car.
Definite ticking noise. Get the car checked out by a good mechanic or shop. The dealer knows how to as well.
Welcome to the club! Get your wallet and credit cards out. Work on a loan or get a second job.
Be encouraged.
The last time I tried this it was unable to identify the option codes for my car specifically. That was some time ago, maybe it has improved. Is there a more complete search tool for decoding VINs?
No, I'm referring to my car and its history which only shows a generic response when interrogating VIN decoders. I have already done a Carfax and I'm looking for a more complete build sheet for my records.
Vinanalytics is now charging for information that used to be free on its site. I am unclear as to the current determining factors that decide what is and isn't free. With that said, while Vinanalytics usually provides pretty good information, it isn't always accurate.
Start a new thread for this with a title "Does this sound like bore scoring?" You will get more responses. Hopefully a trend will appear among multiple responses. Rely on the that versus any single doom and gloom response.
Not certain exactly what you are looking for. If you have no history at all including no service records, the carfax report should help to at least identify some information including dealerships where it was serviced. From there its a matter of making friends with the service folks to get service and maintenence information. Its doable but it will take time.
Why are you sure it is scoring? Agreed it sounds pretty bad. Scope it and check the oil filter for sparkles. Cylinders or bearings. You might want to first take the belt off and start it for a few seconds to rule out the accessories. You could also drop the sump and see what's there. Good luck!
