I think after y2k they just use the tappered grommet.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I just bought a 99 Carrera 2 that's been stored outside for a while and in the process of getting it running again I've been trying to clean it up as much as possible. Under the hood (trunk) there was a lot of leaves and dirt in the battery area, so I cleared that all out. There are two drain holes for water. One was free of debris, but the other one was so clogged that I couldn't even dig it out with a screwdriver, so I tried pulling the rubber grommet/tube out and ended up mangling it. I can't find a part name or diagram anywhere so I can get a replacement and figure out how to install it. Anyone have information on what this part is called and how to access it from underneath?
Thanks,
Nick
Thanks, guys - both those look close, but from what I can tell, the "grommet" piece leads to a flex tube that drains down. Here's the one that's still intact:
And here's the one I've mauled trying to remove it:
I can't pull it up any further than that, which leads me to believe it's connected underneath. Does anyone have a diagram of the area around the battery tray/fuel tank that shows how you access the underside of the area?
Thanks,
Nick

On my 2004 C4S the two grommets, about 10-15 cm apart, in the middle of the frunk, are
