I came to find they installed the actual switch where you adjust the mirror upside down.

This has been since I got it and so I assumed the previous owner probably put the cable in wrong to the mirror I have since replaced the mirror and the passenger door wiring harness from an exact 2002 996 Turbo with bose but the issue is still the same.my next thought would be that the connector point in the door jam could be off on the fender side but this seems ia stretch assumption so I was wondering if there is another connection that could be plugged in wrong on the loom going to the drivers door where the control is.

I did check the control connection and that doesnt seem that its possible to have wired that wrong for it.
