Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check exhaust looks low' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check exhaust looks low' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'm a bit hesitant to switch as the viscosity reported at the last change shows just a bit low of the normal range, so the engine appears to be shearing the oil a bit.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wanted to say hello! Picked up the car from another Rennlist member in South Carolina. Drove the car all the way back to NJ without any problems. Engine running very strong. Had the car looked at thoroughly today by PowerTech in Rockaway, NJ. Needs a few maintenance items; struts, motor mounts, tires, brake flush & bleed, and some other odds and ends. Car had clutch done at around ~65k... debating whether to wait until next clutch service to address IMS. Very happy with my purchase, and look forward to many miles of fun.
Congrats, we are twins! When was the water pump last replaced, How does the coolant look? I'm assuming oil change is on your list of maintenance items, any idea what oil weight is currently in the car?
Thank you! Yeah, that and the struts I'm sure will make a difference. Right now the ride is jarring at low speeds.
Waterpump was changed at ~75k. Coolant looks good. Currently on Mobil 1 15W50 and same the last couple changes. A while back it was on Mobil 1 0W40 and today I was told that is the right oil to use. Not sure - any opinion on that?
The car has had oil analysis done at 5-6k intervals and the reports have been positive with 15W50. I'm a bit hesitant to switch as the viscosity reported at the last change shows just a bit low of the normal range, so the engine appears to be shearing the oil a bit.
Why didn't you?!
Appreciate the warm welcome! So I'm bringing the car in next week to get the following done @ PowerTech in Rockaway, NJ
Coolant reservoir replaced (it's cracked), flushed & filled
Brake fluid flushed & bled
Bilstein B4 struts
Engine mounts
And last but not least... LN Single Row Pro IMS Retrofit
Quick shot from my first day out on some proper roads. Seven Lakes Drive is a north–south parkway located in the Hudson Valley region of New York. What a difference new struts, engine mounts, and tires make.
Good thing I picked up a radar detector. Saved me from 2 tickets today on the way there and again on the way back. In the second instance, the guy behind me didn't slow down in time and got nabbed.
Very nice. Seven Lakes Drive is a favorite of mine. Did you go pass the Bear mountain bridge to Route 202? Really nice road to give our cars a good work out. Only problem with this time of year is its too cold for meaningful traction.
I had a time constraint so not sure which roads I hit, but I can't wait to go back. I didn't have much issue with traction believe it or not, may have been the fresh rubber.
Beautiful car! Good luck with it...I've got a pair of Bilstein B8 sport front struts (brand new in the box) if you decide to go with sport/lowering springs. PM me if you're interested.
It's good to see enthusiasts grabbing these 996's left and right like hot cakes now. Even my co-worker here is looking for one as well. Btw great looking C4S, enjoy... Cheers,
Will do. Ty
Thanks. If it drives the way it does for another 50k miles, it'll be one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's really that good. I like what you've done with yours, btw. Stance is perfect
