Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I lock the driver side door with the key fob, it takes several tries to get it to unlock again. Whether I'm pressing the keyfob or turning the lock in the door with the key. After 5 or 6 tries, the door will unlock. Passenger side is fine. Anyone else experience this?

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the lock actuator is starting to go bad? But I guess that would not explain why physically turning the tumbler with the key would have the same problem.

Do you own this car? (snicker)

Well, I do drive it like I stole it!

POST 5Original post

I know I will get some stick from other readers but have you tried spraying WD40 insider the key hole? That is what I would do and if that does not solve it, then remove the door panel and respray directly over the locking mechanism. If that fails, then the whole lock may need to be changed and re-set to your key.

POST 6Original post

Sounds like it's on the way out, might be worth replacing. Taking off the door panel is straight forward then you can have a look at what's wrong with it and try to repair/replace. There was someone on here that's having trouble getting into their car, don't want to let it get to that stage!
