Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They checked the terminals and everything is good with the battery.

I'm hoping they have someone there that can determine if this startup issue is also related to the accident.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I experienced a minor rear end accident on 1/18 at a red light the car behind me went into me while we were both at a stop (so couldn't have been more than 5-10mph). I took my foot off the clutch (I was about to get into gear) because of impact that kind of whipped my body and my car stalled, and I couldn't start the car up. I called a tow at the scene of the accident and they jumped my car and it was ready to drive off (I was 5 minutes from my home).
On Monday 1/30 I noticed the car didn't start so I called a tow to jump my car again thinking it was the battery. The car would crank and turn (12v) but would not fire up to start. The tow said it might be the fuel pump and might need to be replaced.
I got the car last September with 110k miles and its never had a single issue (112k now).
Could a rear end impact have messed up a crankshaft position sensor? Messed up fuel lines or hoses? Or even cracked my fuel pump?
My car will be going to a porsche certified collision center body shop that I chose, and the driver at faults insurance will be sending an adjuster over.
Will they be able to tell if this startup issue is in fact from the accident or just coincidence? What are your thoughts or anyone have similar experiences before?
They will need a Durametric or PWIS connection to your car and that will help diagnose it. Make sure whoever works on it has this equipment otherwise it could be difficult/time consuming to diagnose.
Probably a coincidence with the 10 mph bump. Sounds like something may have been wrong with your car to begin with. If you were able to drive away from the accident, then I don't see how the accident caused your car to not start.
when my car got hit, it wouldnt start up at the scene of the accident. I needed a tow to come jump start my car and after several cranks it finally fired up.
now the same issue is happening. thats why im asking this question
Thanks for the responses guys.
I had called a second tow to jump my car on Monday when I discovered it wasn't starting up. Battery read good at 12v and it was cranking at normal speed but just wouldnt fire up. They checked the terminals and everything is good with the battery.
Spoke with a porsche shop the other day and the head mechanic there said he had a similar issue when he got a front end collision in his chevy. He said it may be related to the rear end accident from knocking sensors out of place or even cracking my fuel pump. But he wouldn't know until he had it in the shop.
The car is scheduled to be towed within the next week to a porsche certified repair facility. I'm hoping they have someone there that can determine if this startup issue is also related to the accident.
my main problem is that the other persons insurance who has already accepted full liability is being soo damn hard to work with. Never answering phone calls, saying they can't send out an adjuster till 2/8 when an estimate was already sent to them on 1/26 and their driver hit me on 1/18, and also now they are saying they can't send their own tow on there end to get my car to the repair facility for their adjuster to meet at
Guy hits you from behind...their fault. Get an attorney. Get your car fixed right and have your attorney send everything to the other person's insurance company. Insurance companies only respond to threats. Don't even waste your time trying to get something from the other insurance company, or an answer from them. Or make the claim through your insurance company and let them sue the other insurance company.
