Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Then check the coolant level and top up as necessary.
Leading evidence: 'Check coolant level and top up as necessary' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check coolant level and top up as necessary' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The disc valve wasn't work so I check all the pipes, test it with a depressiv gun.

I had a trouble with the steering pump but it was just a bad connection and lost liquid and need to clean all behind the pump.

So when trouble shooting you have to consider them separately........do not confuse the two circuits....they have nothing to do with each other except that if you replace the Sensor housing you are replacing two/both sensors..

Personally I would look for rodent damage in the engine compartment, also check the connectors behind the cluster as mentioned, if nothing found I would do a "wiggle test " if still nothing found then get a full wiring diagram and a DVOM and test all the associated wires individually..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
I have a c4s from 2003.
To resume my last change on my car last month :
Water pump
Calorstat
Coolant Expansion vase with the level sensor
Belt and belt bearing
Drive at least 300km with no problem.
I had a trouble with the steering pump but it was just a bad connection and lost liquid and need to clean all behind the pump.
After that...
After some kilometers I had the red warning light (blinking) and the needle go down (Motor Temperature).
Sometimes it stop and sometimes the problem coming again.
I saw that the day after looking for the steering pump, It was strange. The needle Temperature go up very slowly but no red warning.
If I let the car in the garage and wait, the needle go to the normal Temp. Slowly.
I change the Temp sensor on the Oil pump.
Same problem.
I put the old level coolant sensor.
Same problem.
The weather is a little bit cold but last year no problem.
I have my Oil pressure who seems to be at the end of is live (saw it from a long time) and when the warning come for the Motor Temp the needle of the Oil pressure seems to be "normal".
I lost my mind with this problem :/
Anyone can help me ?
Thank you
Is it a fast blink or a slow blink. Both conditions have been talked about extensively. Try a search in this forum.
Also there is a bypass valve for the tiptronic cooler. When it fails the coolant system does strange things. U may want to search that failure too?
Thank you for your response
I already search in the forum, found a Topic but not really understand what about this Valve.
I upload a video to show the time between two blink.
You probably have air in the coolant system. Lift the bail on the coolant expansion tank and drive around with it up. Then check the coolant level and top up as necessary. You may have to do this several times.
After looking at that video i would say u might have a wiring issue between the sensor and the dme. My next step would be to get a scanner that could log the temp reading at the dme. It it falls to 0 its a connection issue.
If the dme log is not showing an abnormal temp while the guage needle is sweeping down to zero then there must be a wiring issue between the dme and the gauge cluster. The plastic plug assemblies on the back of the cluster r know to fail. Maybe u have a bad connection?
A little info that may help you troubleshoot this issue..
The Coolant Temp Sensor on the oil pump console is a "dual Temp Sensor" ...It has 2 Sensors in 1 housing.....one sensor sends the temp to the DME and one sensor sends the temp to the dash cluster...... they have separate wiring.....
Problem solve
It was a problem with the vacuum.
The disc valve wasn't work so I check all the pipes, test it with a depressiv gun. I has a problem directly from the pipe near the PID.
Now all works perfectly
Thank you guys for your help
