Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm wondering if anyone has real world street (not autobahnen )and autoX experience with a 4.0 final drive ratio. (Stock is 3.44) I'd like to be rowing the gears more at high revs at street legal ( ) speeds.

POST 2Original post

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...n-7-1-gt3.html Different car, motor and even trans but all of the dynamics r the same. Lots of good info in the tread. Ill probably go with 3.9:1 gears next winter.

POST 3Original post

Damn. This sounds like an awesome upgrade, but $4-5K?

POST 4Original post

Well the mezger stuff is pricey....the cup gears at a 4.0:1 (8:32r cheaper but some sat its not good to run the same the same gear teeth against them selves as the wear faster and will make more noise. The 3.9 (8:31) rs gear teeth rotate around because they r not an integer of itself. Also porsche tax as they raise the rs gear set price by 25% last year.
