Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They called me and didn't have the part but were checking with "Germany" on Monday morning.
Leading evidence: 'Check with "germany"' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with "germany"' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently purchased the PCCM+ radio for my 2002 996.2 Targa and took it to my trusted shop to install it as I am terrible with electronics. They pulled out the aftermarket piece that a previous owner installed and informed me that I needed part: 99664210301, the "retaining frame" and that they were having trouble tracking one down. Looks like the part has been discontinued on Suncoast. I found a couple on the internet but am struggling to get the ordered placed and not sure they are trustworthy sites.
Looking for Part 7
Does anyone have a suggestion on how best to go about procuring a retaining frame to finish this install?
Really appreciate the help, especially as the car is in pieces at the moment and I am eager to get it out of their way.
Thank you!
Try this:
M662 Navigation System -02 See Technical Information Gr.0 , Nr. 4/97 Tech. Information Memo Gr.9 , Nr. 2a/97 See Technical Information Gr.9 , Nr.2/00 See Technical Information Gr.9 , Nr.3/02
It is part #7. I clicked on it and they didn't say it was out of stock.
Good luck
Your ‘02 should have the glovebox and cup holders that slide out between the vents and HVAC panel, yes?
Per PET, the correct frame would be 996-552-653-04, and 996-552-231-13-01C (outer frame) for a 2002 with M662 Info/navigation system.
Thank you
@Deserion
I believe that is correct. I bought it with an aftermarket head unit installed and they removed the cupholders. I did but the cupholder and they were able to get those into the bracket, but then told me i needed that other part, which I am having a hard time coming by.
I will pass along what you found and see if that works instead.
@996-CAB
I placed the order with AutoAtlanta and after not hearing back I called them this morning and they told me their supplier didn't have it and they had cancelled the order. They did tell me to call FVD Brombacher, so I called in there and am waiting a call back.
Thank you
@GH996
I don't know how you all find these places, but I sure appreciate it and will be bookmarking them!
I went ahead and placed the order through them.
As an update here is who I have struck out with so far:
AutoAtlanta - I placed the order. They confirmed and then emailed later that had to cancel. I called and they didn't have the part and said they were not able to get it
Einmalig - Same thing as AutoAtlanta. Placed order online and notified after calling that they didn't have it and had to cancel
Teile - Order placed but no word from them. Not confident
FVD Brombach - AutoAtlanta pointed me to them. They called me and didn't have the part but were checking with "Germany" on Monday morning.
DC Automotive - Order placed - Followed up with a call and am waiting on them to return a call to discuss expedited shipping.
Ebay - looks like there is one on Belgian ebay, but they can't ship to the US.
So close I can taste it at this point. Thank you all for the help!
Thank you
@GH996
DC Auto had the part, followed up with several pictures of it and is overnight shipping it.
Really appreciate all of the help. Great to have learned about a few new parts sites!
