Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi! I am new to this forum and I need some help renovating my engine. The engine in question is a m96 from a 1999 carrera 4s. I need the torque specs for the rod bolts (will be needing more torque specs later). I would be thankfull if anyone has a chart for these specs! I will be running new OEM bolts and not ARP bolts! Best regards Oliver

POST 2Original post

Here is the definitive book on the subject: “996 Torque Book” – Fastening Specifications for Porsche 911 (Type 996) Automobile - Books - EDU Unfortunately, I don't have it or the answer for you. I'm sure someone will chime in.

POST 3Original post

Carrera 4S came out in 2002 with the larger displacement engine. A 1999 engine is smaller displacement.

POST 5Original post

Buy the books, they are very helpful beyond just the specs during a rebuild.
