Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Used the footwell jump point with a battery box as I've done before, wouldn't open the frunk.

I was able to pop the rear trunk so I used those jump points to start the car, move it, and then fully charge the battery.

Using the activations I was able to pop the rear trunk (and other things).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2001 996C4 cabrio, hardtop is installed.
Went away for 3 weeks and when I came back, unlocked the car with the key (I knew it would go into sleep mode).
Put the key in the ignition and it was turning a little but not strong enough to start.
Went to pop the frunk, wouldn't open.

When I open the door, the interior lights don't come on. They do when I start the car with the door open.
When I use the remote, the alarm light doesn't flicker, but it does if I have the key in the ignition in the ON position.
I have a Durametric scanner and will check it out, and also am working on getting a PIWIS 3, but open to suggestions. I've tried all the variations of key in the lock, key in the ignition, hop on one foot, etc.
Now that the bat is charged.....disconnect it for a few minutes and reconnect. The immobilizer gets real funny when the voltage is low. U may not have been low enough to reset it and now its confused?
U have an issue with the immobilizer. There is a fuse on the unit itself under the seat and there r 2 fuses in the footwell box associated with this computer. If u search u can find which ones they r. Verify they r good. U may want to see if u can find your emergancy release cable for the frunk. Many threads on its location if u search.
Hooked up the Durametric, couple of old fault codes but nothing relevant. Using the activations I was able to pop the rear trunk (and other things).
Frunk is still non-responsive.
Do u hear the soleniod in the frunk "trying" to move? Or does it seam like there is no power? If its not trying to move when commanded its an electrical issue or dead soleniod.
I recently had to send my immobilizer to ecudoctors to have the board re-flowed. My door locks stopped working for no reason other then 25 yr/old electronics
I pulled the seat and found the immobilizer. On the side there is a blue 15A mini fuse. Checked and it was open (no good). Replaced the fuse and everything is working again.
Thanks!
